Senate Dems launch filibuster to push for gun control - will go late into the night

The Democrats' ghoulish lust for gun control has hit a fever pitch in the wake of the Orlando terror attack. Instead of talking about the shooters motive and the FBI's abject failure, they choose to focus all of their attention - and extremely limited firearm knowledge - on the weapons he used. Scratch that. They usually focus their attention on guns he didn't use, in particular the AR-15.
Regardless of their feeble grasp of the facts, they've decided to pounce before people start to realize that it's the left's politically correct culture of coddling that allowed the Orlando massacre to happen. To push the agenda, they've hijacked a Senate debate over a DOJ spending bill to which they were trying to add a host of gun control amendments. Apparently, it's time for a good old-fashioned filibuster. Here are the details from the Politico:
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) launched a talking filibuster on the Senate floor — which was quickly joined by fellow Democrats — in an effort to pressure Republicans to accept legislation that would deny suspected terrorists from purchasing firearms and require universal background checks. The Senate is debating a spending bill that Democrats hope to offer gun amendments to, but Murphy said that the Senate should “not proceed with debate on amendments to this bill until we have figured out a way to come together on, at the very least, two simple ideas.” “I’m going to remain on this floor until we get some signal, some sign that we can come together on these two measures, that we can get a path forward on addressing this epidemic in a meaningful, bipartisan way,” Murphy continued on the Senate floor on Wednesday, after he first started his filibuster at about 11:20 a.m. At the same time, Sens. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) are exploring whether there is common ground on a deal to prevent suspected terrorists from buying firearms.

Democrats are prepared for a marathon session of telling the American people that they're wrong, so the parade of gun grabbers should stretch well into the night. If you feel like subjecting yourself to what will surely be a parade of lies, half-truths, inaccuracies, and myths, you can watch it below.
