Stifling our ability to hate is an act of moral masturbation

The importance of hate

Mankind’s creator instilled some fairly important and in some cases fairly unpleasant checks and balances into organisms to ensure their chances for survival. Among these checks and balances are emotions, which are felt at a visceral level and help organisms detect threats at a subconscious level through various senses.

Unlike the ability to reason, emotions in human beings are totally and completely irrational, yet tend to serve as powerful motivators for actions and reactions. Hence the completely irrational act of falling in love, which happens at a level that totally negates reason and depends largely on pheromones, those elusive odors produced by males and females in their search for successful procreation. Equally powerful and just as irrational is the emotion of hate. Hate being the opposite of love holds every bit as much visceral power over individuals as does love, and exists to protect beings from their enemies. Hate is closely tied to fear, another emotion susceptible to the irrational, but one that is essential to survival. We hate those whom we fear because we perceive they may have intentions of harming us and the fear/hate response is a protective mechanism, allowing us to fight or flee from perceived threats. How bizarre that modern Western society has turned hate into a criminal activity. While it may seem civilized to have the ability to overcome one’s fears and see the point of view of those who would threaten our existence, it’s a sure-fire way to ensure your eventual destruction. There are truly people in this world who are worthy of being hated and who should be feared as enemies. Take Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, for instance, the squinty-eyed fundamentalist Muslim Iranian President who has promised to “wipe [the state of] Israel off the face of the earth”, and who views the West as his enemy. Here’s a guy who has little compunction about publicly expressing his hatred for his enemies and to boast about his intention of doing them lethal harm. He is the public face of fundamentalist Iran and voices that hate-filled rogue state’s aspirations of conquering the world and putting it under the iron heel of a crypto medieval legal system, Sharia law. Ahmedinejad is bold because he knows that his enemies have no stomach for self-preservation, as it may involve having to take up arms and engage in warfare. If Ahmedinejad were facing world leaders of the caliber of Winston Churchill, Franklin Roosevelt, or even Margaret Thatcher, he would be much more circumspect in his public musings because none of these leaders would flinch at defending their nations. But that’s the price we in the West are willing to pay to appear more evolved, inclusive and civilized. Stifling our ability to hate is an act of moral masturbation that encourages those who hate us to conclude that we are easy targets, and to invite violent acts against us. The belief by nearly 30% of Americans that the US government is responsible for the destruction of 9/11 is an example of how willful blindness among our people will accept nearly any excuse to negate the idea that there are people in the world that crave our destruction. Did the government also perpetrate the bombing of the USS Cole? The bombing of the US Embassies in Africa? The attempted 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center? These delusions come as a result of our refusal to recognize the importance of hate. A parallel delusion is currently making the rounds in the discussions about climate change. Those on the “enlightened” side hold that carbon is a toxic pollutant, despite the fact that over 99% of all life on this planet is carbon based and that carbon plays an important role in the abilities of plants to produce oxygen. But it’s nearly impossible to convince the liberal elite with facts because many facts do not fit their narrative. Hence we’ve made hate illegal and want to “control” propagation of one of the four prime elements necessary for life on earth. There’s no end to the bizarre fetishes, which liberalism wants to promulgate. On whom will liberals lay the blame when Tel Aviv, Chicago or Paris is turned into a pile of radioactive ash by a well-placed nuke? You can be certain it won’t include those who actually did it.
