The Promise of America

Look folks, let’s just say it like it is, things suck right now. The dollar is dropping like a rock, the economy (job growth) is stagnant, the average guy is struggling to get by, heck, the average guy's life is falling apart right now. Nearly 1 in 6 Americans is out of work, another block of the population is on reduced hours, reduced benes, and/or reduced pay. Inflation is on the rise, it costs several hours at work just to fill up the tank, and WTH is with food prices?! The house you’re in, if you are still in one, is worth about 40% less than it was 3 years ago, and it is still dropping. We have an immoral secularist spouting thinly veiled Marxist rhetoric in the White House and in the Congress. Everyone wants everything fixed, but no one wants to take a hit to fix it! Nobody has the guts (they call it political will) to take a cleaver to the budget and just whack off the fat!

We here at the Greene Opinion have stated, ad nauseum, what needs to be done, not just in our opinion, but often citing those much more widely read, yet nothing happens! Lives are falling apart, families are falling apart, marriages are falling apart...WTH do you do? I'll tell you; on a practical level you keep pushing politicians for reform. Keep voting for people who really want to change things. If they don't change things, dump them! Doesn't matter who they are Democrats, Republicans, Tea Party, they don’t change things, dump them, vote for the guy next door if he is decent and really wants to do something! What else can you do? Have faith! In the roughly 6,000 years of recorded history, we have one of the most politically stable, freest, and economically advantaged countries in the history of the planet. We are a great people. Don't let the so called Intelligentsia tell you otherwise. We are the ones everyone wants to be like. We are still the country everyone turns to in times of crisis for leadership, for military intervention. We don't need to run around the world apologizing for who we are and what we have done!

What we need is more of the faith in ourselves as a people, in our country

What we need is more of the faith in ourselves as a people, in our country and in our better nature to turn things around. How do we do that you might ask? Simple, what are the values that made us great? Judeo-Christian values, that's what? We spend our time kicking God out of schools, government, and look where it got us! Look what happened to the Evil Empire, the Eastern Bloc crumbled 20 years ago now! Why! Because a bunch of well meaning do gooders, who had turned their backs on these values said "we can create Heaven on earth". Well look at what Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, et al did. If Heaven on earth is waiting on bread lines and not being able to afford a car, a house or have a refrigerator that works, than Communism is indeed the answer you are looking for! If what you want is the opportunity to live a life not of fear but of hope and faith, then we need to turn to our values that made this country great, pull up our bootstraps, fire the bums who have made a mess of everything, and take the reins ourselves. No more handouts! Did Jesus make the Apostles rich? Did He give them everything the world could offer? I think not! What He gave them was hope, truth and a way to live one's life. If we apply these basic principles, we can succeed as a nation. Now, there is much that has been said about Jesus being a Communist. Not true. What God did was give us hope, what we needed to know to make it through life’s struggles. He wanted us to help our fellow man, those that were more fortunate, through voluntary efforts, as the country had done until the early 20th century. Then the do-gooders came along and said Government was going to play God. Government was going to impose upon you the "right" thing to do. You cannot force people to do the right thing through legislation.

Redistributing wealth is not the "right" thing to do, it is STEALING!

Redistributing wealth is not the "right" thing to do, it is STEALING! Teaching a man how to make bread, and thus earn a wage, and then the values to work hard to perfect that skill is what makes a man successful, not giving him a loaf of bread for "free" everyday! What does giving something to someone do? It makes them wait around for the handout everyday! I am the descendant of poor immigrants who came here seeking a better life, legally I might add. They never knew great riches, but, they had a roof over their head, food on the stove, the freedom to do, say and worship as they saw fit and raise a family that did better than they did. THAT is the American way. How many of you can say that we live in THAT same country now? Do not despair, have hope, keep your head up, don't listen to the naysayers, but, KNOW WHAT THEY ARE SAYING. Words have meaning. Read in between the lines. Do not be afraid, do not be a victim, trust me on this one, it is no way to live your life, it is no way to run a country.

Each one of us living a faithful life and not a fear filled life can make a difference

Each one of us living a faithful life and not a fear filled life can make a difference. You have a sphere of influence, you positively affect your own thinking and those around you and before you know it, it spreads. You are encouraged by the positive results. Sure, there will be struggles, you will try and not succeed, but you try again. You have faith, in God, in yourself, and those around you. Before you know it, you have a revolution, however, unlike the so called "do gooders", a peaceful one. A Revolution of the spirit, and where the spirit goes, the body follows. Indeed a bright shining path, a city on the hill, a light, an example for the rest of the world. That is the Promise of America! That's my opinion.
