Abortion, Roe vs. Wade

This presidential election is a referendum on life

The countdown continues, and in less than two weeks all voting in the 2012 presidential election will end. Some people have already cast their ballots. Others are looking for the opportunity to get to the polls and still others are trying to decide who they will vote for. If you haven’t voted yet, take a moment to think about who you will support. We have many huge issues to consider before making this very important decision, but let’s focus on one very fundamental right, the right to life as stated in the Declaration of Independence. The first right mentioned anywhere in American law is the right to life, and that right doesn’t come to us from any government, but from our Creator—God. Since Roe vs. Wade, a decision reached because of the coercion of Norma McCorvey, the “Jane Roe,” in the case, the Supreme Court decided that the right to life comes from the halls of Washington, D.C. Since that time, abortion supporters have tried to reinforce their position while pro-life advocates have tried to reverse that dreadful decision.

Today, we have the most pro-abortion activist president occupying the Oval Office. Barack Obama believes that rights come from government and that government has the authority to determine what rights our citizens enjoy and in what measure. When he was a state Senator in Illinois, Obama voted for a law which said that babies who survived abortions should be left to die. These were living, breathing, human beings that Obama said didn’t matter and should be put out with the trash. Now his Obamacare wants to provide taxpayer funds to provide abortions, contraceptives, and sterilizations, all of which either terminate new life or have the potential to do so. If you support life, if you believe that our rights come to us from God, let me see you try to rationalize, in all good conscience, a vote to give Obama another four years in the White House.
