imageDo they love tigers? Are they fascinated with cities? Is their ultimate dream to find a universe where there is actually a city of tigers? Unfortunately, the answer to these questions is all no. "Actually, there is no significance at all. No importance... it just happened" Joel Ford, bassist for the disco-indie band Tigerctiy explained.

Tigercity is a Brooklyn-based band that has been acclaimed by Rolling Stone as their new favorite group, and is something that Ford describes as "pretty cool and exciting." But what exactly makes up a dancing disco band like Tigercity? With influences from Prince, Radio Head, Hall and Oates and Talking Heads, Ford claims their shows and music is all about getting people dancing. Playing Toronto on November 7th, Tigercity is definitely excited as they have no expectations for the show, which Ford stresses is the best way to perform. This Tigercity should not be confused with the Tiger City wrestling league located in the Philippines, but Ford is open to the idea of creating the ultimate form of entertainment. His response to the suggestion of a supreme boxing match accompanied by live music, was a simple yet assuring "definitely" Tigercity is playing the legendary Horseshoe Tavern with Mobius Band and will be playing songs off their new EP: Pretend Not To Love. Tickets can be bought at the door or at Rotate This for 11.50$ Canadian. It is a 19+ show.
