Unlike the previous royal limo, this car was factory converted to use LPG. The previous Rolls limo was converted aftermarket to use propane back in the 1990's. Like the previous royal limousine, Queen Liz has used many vehicles that operate on this ultra clean fuel. An older model of the traditional London taxi cab also runs on propane and is used by the Windsor Castle staff for errands. Sometimes Prince Phillip takes it out for a spin by himself when he wants to drive into town to keep a low profile. Propane is 105 octane and burns hotter and cleaner than all other readily available fuels because it contains 18 percent hydrogen. Propane burns 4 times faster than diesel fuel and about twice as fast as gasoline. Engines last 2 or 3 times longer burning propane because it burns so clean and leaves no carbon in the engine. LPG is Liquid Petroleum Gas and is found in it's natural state with natural gas ( methane ) and is also derived from oil refining. In Asia it is called cooking gas and in Europe it is labeled autogas. City buses in Vienna have used it for over 30 years. Many countries around the world offer incentives for taxi cabs and commercial vehicles to get a conversion to use propane. Thailand, Canada, USA, Australia and many European countries offer federal incentives to switch commercial and private vehicles to use propane. Contact your local federal government for details pertaining to your location. In England London, cars and trucks on propane are exempt from the out-of-town commuter fees when driving into downtown London. In the past 6 years, advanced propane fuel injection systems have been used to take advantage of the modern engine computers and ultra high octane LPG. In London, England, the pump price of LPG is about 1/3 of the price of gasoline, in Canada and Thailand the pump price is about half the price of gasoline or diesel and in the USA, propane costs about 60 percent of the price of diesel. Of all the countries in the world, Australia uses more commercial vehicles on LPG as a percentage than other countries. Turkey offers factory Chevs on propane for the smallest cars. No internal changes are needed for engines converted to use propane. Because of the huge increased demand for diesel fuel in India, China and any country expanding roads and mining operations, it now costs more than double the propane pump prices. I call it clean, green, God’s gasoline and have used propane in commercial vehicles for over 1 million miles which is over 1.6 million kilometers. Toronto, Canada has more propane stations than any other city in North America and there are over 100 locations to buy it within a normal daily commuting range. The pump prices in North America remain stable because OPEC does not control propane production A former member of the S.A.E. Driving a tractor on his family farm at age 4, he raced boats and cars during the 1960s and 1970s, both powered by gasoline and alcohol fuels. Having even used hydrazine (rocket fuel) as a fuel additive in drag racing, Mark learned all about synthetic lubes from a chemist who developed the very first synthetic lube oils to be certified for U.S. military specs back in 1952.
