Whining, evading responsibility, and finger pointing seems to be pandemic throughout the McCain camp

Tough Love

The Republican Party got what it deserved, and it needs a thorough, rigorous, and long-overdue #-kicking from top to bottom. True, we just got one, compliments of the Democrats, but I'm talking about an in-house job.

Ideology aside, which party ran the better campaign? Hands down, the Democratic Party did. From the grassroots level to party leadership, the Democrats outmaneuvered, outguessed, and out-finessed the Republicans at every turn. The Republican Party was, unbelievably, outclassed -- unbelievably outclassed. Speaking of class, or rather, lack thereof, what is going on with the McCain entourage? Whining, evading responsibility, and finger pointing seems to be pandemic throughout the McCain camp. Look at the slurs and innuendos being cast at Governor Palin by nameless McCain insiders. Palin was the only reason that McCain's lethargic campaign ever picked up steam and had any shot at winning at all. And now these nameless, gutless, party hacks are trying to cover their worthless butts by blaming everything on Sarah! These are the same idiots that had Palin do an interview with Katie Couric, as opposed to, for example, Chris Wallace. Wallace did everything but beg for an interview, and would have been, if not friendly, at least not squarely in the Obama camp. These are the same muddle-headed numbskulls that turned down an offer by Fox News to interview McCain in the waning days of the race. Free airtime on Fox could have effectively counterbalanced Obama's expensive half-hour promotional ad. I could go on, and on, and this isn't "Monday night quarterbacking." My mind was boggled all through the campaign. All too often, as the McCain campaign carried on, I'd say to myself, "What are these morons thinking!" Compared to the smooth running, purpose-driven, energized machine that was the Democratic campaign, the Republican machine looked like Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang, on acid. Much of the American electorate probably looked at how the McCain campaign was run, and figured the Republican’s would run the country the same way. “No thanks,” they said, “we’re in enough of a mess as it is.” Don't misunderstand me. I have tremendous respect for Senator McCain. He's a true American hero, and I have no doubt whatsoever that he will always do what he sees as in the country's best interest. He's a man of integrity, character, and intelligence, and he picked Sarah – good call Mac. I'll give the man his due, but to put it mildly, the McCain campaign for the Presidency was nothing to write home about. The point I'm trying to make, is that the Republican Party as a whole, is nothing to write home about either. It's riddled with too many clever, greedy weasels -- who are killing the Republican Party more effectively than Bill Ayers could ever dream of. I don't blame John McCain for the election loss; I surely don't blame Sarah Palin, and I don't blame the American electorate. I blame the ineffectual, slick, opportunistic carpetbaggers who have infested the Republican Party. They are Republicans in name only, and make a mockery of the ideals of Lincoln and Reagan. It’s time to get back to basics; to the ideals and attitudes that used to define and inspire the Republican Party: free enterprise, less government, patriotism, capitalism, right to life, prayer, integrity, self-responsibility, God…. Before we think about any effective offensive against the Democrats, we damn well better get our own house in order. As it presently stands, the Republican Party is a disunited, ideologically bankrupt, rudderless, ineffectual mess. If there are any inspired and inspiring, energetic Republican leaders of integrity, passion, and vision – now would be a good time to stand up. Sarah.
