Trump and the Importance of Who We Are

One of the most important paragraphs in Dr. Sebastian Gorka's recently published book 'Defeating Jihad' concerns Sun Tzu's famous dictum quoted above. Gorka states that people often focus on the "know your enemy" part of the quote, and ignore the equally important "know thyself" part--a foolhardy and calamitous mistake.
It is indeed good to know your enemy if you wish to win, but Sun Tsu's [sic] recipe for ultimate victory begins with knowing yourself--why you are going to war, what you are fighting for. ...What do I represent? What am I prepared to risk blood and treasure for, and why exactly am I going to war? If you cannot answer these questions, then you should not be going to war at all. -- Dr. Sebastian Gorka, 'Defeating Jihad: The Winnable War'

"Radical Islam" the Obama Administration

That last sentence bears repeating: "If you cannot answer these questions, then you should not be going to war at all." The war that Dr. Gorka is referring to is of course the war against radical Islam (or the Islamists or jihadists if you prefer). It is NOT a war against "terrorism" (which is a tool or weapon, not an enemy), and it is certainly not a war against "man-made disasters" or "workplace violence." We (the USA) have been in a war with radical Islam for a number of years now--government naysaying notwithstanding. By refusing to use the term "radical Islam" the Obama Administration (and to a degree the Bush Administration before it) has contributed greatly to an ever-rising tide of Islamophobia in America. If there is no such thing as radical Islam then all of Islam must be at fault, right? Islam as a whole is nothing but a front for terrorism--or so those who deny the existence of radical Islam would have us believe. In effect they are tarring moderate Muslims and Muslim governments such as Jordan's and Egypt's with the same brush used on ISIS. It is beyond idiotic, it is criminal. But I'm going off on a tangent here. Before I got distracted I was discussing the importance of knowing who we are, or rather what we are. To be specific, what America as a country is, what it stands for. If we enter into a war with radical Islam knowing everything there is to know about them, yet do not know who we are, what America stands for, then we will shoot ourselves in the foot with every step we take. Indeed, the lack of American will, purpose, and direction has been all too evident in recent years.

What America stands for these days is an insidious mix of moral relativism, secularism, self-flagellation, globalism, multiculturalism, arrogance, angst and ennui. It's a witch's brew of ineptitude, corruption, guilt, academic over-reach, byzantine legalese, and haughty hubris. Not a combination that wins wars I assure you. We are told that resisting murderous intolerance is "not who we are;" that we should all be good little rug-mats and love our enemies when they come to insult and slay us. What does America stand for, or more to the point what should America stand for? I am old enough to remember when most Americans knew the answer to that question. Nowadays many Americans consider patriotism to be declasse, if it is considered at all. American patriotism is at an all-time low. The globalists, who wish to do away with nation-states (countries), would have it no other way. Which is why the elites (left and right) are so appalled by Trump's unapologetic Americanism--"Make America Great Again!" Yikes! Regarding what America stands for, or at least should stand for, Dr. Gorka gives a wonderful answer. He quotes a couple of paragraphs from Paul Nitze's vitally important National Security Council Report, NSC-68, written in 1950. Gorka describes NCS-68 as "the top secret White House plan to defeat Soviet Russia, a plan that would result, forty years later, in the fall of the Berlin Wall and victory in the Cold War." Gorka believes that elements contained in NSC-68 can help the USA to defeat radical Islam, just as it outlined the way to victory in the Cold War.

A vote for Clinton: Vote for the status quo, for Big Government, Big Banks, Big Business, and globalism

In the excerpt immediately below Nitze elucidates what America stands for by focusing on the Preamble to the US Constitution:
The fundamental purpose of the United States, is laid down in the Preamble to the Constitution: "...to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity." In essence, the fundamental purpose is to assure the integrity and vitality of our free society, which is founded upon the dignity and worth of the individual. Three realities emerge as a consequence of this purpose: Our determination to maintain the essential elements of individual freedom, as set forth in the Constitution and Bill of Rights; our determination to create conditions under which our free and democratic system can live and prosper; and our determination to fight if necessary to defend our way of life.... [italics added] --Paul Nitze "NSC-68"
What does America stand for? I would say that the above excerpt offers an excellent foundational paradigm. I should mention that some lines in the preamble to the "Declaration of Independence" are also of vital importance. Nitze acknowledges the connection in his sentence fragment, "...our free society, which is founded upon the dignity and worth of the individual."

The nihilistic end game which the world's globalist elites are prodding us toward is, of course, diametrically opposed to America's founding principles--as even a cursory examination of the US Constitution and Declaration makes clear. Politicians and their sycophants in the media will swear that isn't true, but you know they lie. It has been obvious for some years that it is asking too much to expect most of our military or government representatives to actually honor their oaths to "defend the US Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic." But "we the people" can at least become fully awake to the fact that the media and government are corrupt and dishonest to the point of treason, and that they stand in opposition to the principles that America should stand for, the principles that once made America great. Just look at the RATs (Republicans Against Trump) brazenly admitting they will vote for Clinton, vote for the status quo, for Big Government, Big Banks, Big Business, and globalism. "We the people" must be determined to see that Donald Trump is our next POTUS. Power to the people! Trump puts America first, takes pride in our country, and has the business savvy and the uncommon good sense to steer our Ship of State back toward the course it was designed to follow. He has a firm grasp of what is good for and about America; what makes it unique in world history. We must return to America's roots, our roots, if we are to stand any chance of defeating radical Islam and curing America's soul sickness. Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more; If "we the people" blow this chance...there will be not be another one.
