Gloves off: Obama is doing everything he can to poison the well for Trump

Trump goes off on Twitter over Obama's inflammatory statements, undermining of Israel

We told you last week that, contrary to appearances they hoped to create, the Obama Administration has been doing anything but helping set up the incoming Trump Administration for success.

Obama is doing everything he can to poison the well for Trump

Whether the action is very public - like the attack on Israel at the UN - or more behind the scenes like thousands of last-minute executive orders or the burrowing of political appointees into career bureaucrats Trump will have a hard time getting rid of, Obama is doing everything he can to poison the well for Trump. We told you. Until this morning, Trump had been publicly gracious about it. That's over. This morning on Twitter, Trump went off on Obama about his petulant, earth-scorching behavior. As we have come to expect from our incoming president, he minced no words:

Trump will surely get ripped by the media for this, but if his victory in November has taught him anything, it's that what he actually says on Twitter has a much greater effect than the media criticism he receives for it. Obama has a nasty little habit of using innuendo to indict those he doesn't like, and once you're familiar with his pattern it's impossible not to recognize it. The Worst Web Site in the World even noticed that the following statement uttered at Pearl Harbor was clearly a shot at Trump:
Obama also has made veiled criticisms of Trump in various public remarks, indirectly attacking the president-elect multiple times during his end-of-year news conference and in his remarks Tuesday at Pearl Harbor, where he warned that “even when hatred burns hottest, even when the tug of tribalism is at its most primal, we must resist the urge to turn inward. We must resist the urge to demonize those who are different.”
That of course accompanies Obama's obviously political claim that the Russians not only tried to mess with our election, but did so with the intention of helping Trump win. While Trump catches heat for "not taking it seriously" or whatever, Obama catches no heat whatsoever for his obviouis attempt to poison the environment for Trump as he prepares to take office. I love the fact that Trump feels no compulsion to just sit back and take it. He will be criticized for "not being presidential" or whatever, but if Obama wants to pick fights over anything and everything, why is it Trump's obligation to maintain presidential decorum? You can argue that he'd be better off if he did, but that's never been his style and you can't argue with the results he's gotten for himself doing it his way.
