Trump Vs. Rock Royalty

I read that "Queen" was not amused when their song "We are the Champions" was played when Trump first walked onto the stage during the Republican convention in Cleveland. After muttering "# 'Queen'" to myself, I began thinking about why so many rock icons favor the status quo, favor the establishment, favor keeping things just as they are. To call them "sell outs" doesn't begin to describe their zombie-like fondness for marching in mindless lock-step with the globalist elites of the world. Have they been phonies all along, and their rebellious act just that--an act and a fraud? Or is their fondness for the homogenized uniformity of globalization a more recent personality quirk?
In any event, I would think it would bring on severe cognitive dissonance when they wave their rebel flag with one hand while fluttering a white kerchief of surrender with the other. Most Rock Stars these days seem merely the naughty and risque wing of the "members only" global elite cabal. A shame really, considering they once possessed so much independence of spirit and daring. Of course the allure of being accepted and embraced by the elites of the world is a powerful "drug" indeed: "Do pull the drawbridge up after you, once you enter the castle Sir Paul. There's a good lad." I was taught growing up that there is an inherent dignity in work, and that any job worth doing is worth doing well. Consequently, even if it is something as mundane as mopping a floor or taking out the trash I take pride in what I do. There is an inherent dignity in work, and afterward the satisfaction of a job well done. Why choose to feel resentful, churlish, and bored with a job you must perform, when you can feel empowered, enthusiastic, and yes even grateful, for the opportunity to be of service? Any job can serve as a vehicle to improve our character and/or level of consciousness.

Unlike many Rock Stars and their elite masters, Donald Trump understands the dignity of work

Which is not to say that we shouldn't keep a weather eye open for any chance to improve our circumstances. The ladder of "upward mobility" is one of the chief benefits of a capitalist society, and the key to a healthy and prosperous middle class. Trump wants to help "we the people" build a ladder of upward mobility that is wide, sturdy, and accessible to as many people as possible. The globalist elites tell us "You didn't build it; you can't build it--there is no ladder! Government is your only salvation--the bigger the better." The elites are basically snobs, who have looked down their noses at the middle class, the despised bourgeois, for centuries. But the middle class is an essential element of any safe and free republic (as the United States of America was intended to be). Currently in America the rich are getting richer, while the poor are kept mesmerized by "bread and circuses," and the middle class is dying on the vine. And that is the status quo that Hillary supporters celebrate and defend--more rules, higher taxes, less freedom, more endless no-win wars, and more restrictions and regulations than you can imagine. Rock on. Unlike many Rock Stars and their elite masters, Donald Trump understands the dignity of work, the value of a strong and prosperous middle class, and the importance to the world of a sovereign and free America.

Rock Royalty may dance and prance their hour upon the stage, but it is more often than not the elites who are calling their tune

Unlike Hillary Clinton and her Rock Star sycophants, Trump believes in America; not globalism. He believes in freedom; not subservience to a bloated government bureaucracy. He believes in the God-given rights of the individual; not some abstract fairytale about global utopias and the "general will." Perhaps above all Trump is an extremely pragmatic businessman who believes in what works. One might expect that as Rock Stars grow older they would mature as the result of experience and hard-earned wisdom--perhaps -- but all too often that is not what I see. Instead of the healthy (if sometimes painful) maturing process that is a natural result of directly experiencing "the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune," what I see is a stubborn refusal to grow up, a doubling down on immature behavior and beliefs. Rock Royalty may dance and prance their hour upon the stage, but it is more often than not the elites who are calling their tune. Meanwhile the python-like grasp of Big Government and Political Correctness is squeezing the life out of freedom of expression, out of liberty, out of America itself. If you value your freedom and desire less war, more job opportunities, higher wages, lower taxes, and fewer rules and regulations -- then vote Trump!
