One day after election NYT uses Obama's middle name.

U.S. Media abandoned principles for propaganda

Now that Barack Hussein Obama has been handed the keys to the White House, dissecting the results has now become the chief pre-occupation of the American Media. CNN is reporting that the African American vote for Obama, along with that of the Hispanic population and other minorities placed them in the “winner” category. Among the “losers,” according to the well-coiffed analyst, were the trickle-down crowd, Christians and others. He did note, however, that Obama could not have won the election without a massive vote from whites. What is interesting, is that no one is questioning the fact that McCain received few votes from African Americans, Hispanics or other monitories who supported their candidate of color. Had whites not supported Obama it would have been seen as racism at work. With all the autopsies swirling around I am wondering who will perform a credible analysis of the role played by the mainstream media (MSM) in ordaining Obama as the 44th president of the United States? The answer is no one. How, after so blatantly supporting Barack Hussein Obama, can the American Mainstream Media ever ask anyone again to trust anything they have to say on any topic or issue in a post election world? Their blatant boosterism and shameless downplaying or rejection of any facts in opposition to their anointing of Obama for president, means both the end of a half-century of journalism based on impartiality, honesty and courage and the transformation of the U.S. media into one large propaganda spewing machine. Ignored, downplayed or distorted by the apologist MSM was Obama’s link to the hate-mongering Rev. Jeremiah Wright. He was quickly ushered out of sight. I can only imagine how the story would have been treated if Sarah Palin had once attended a white supremacist church. Or Senator McCain had ties to some radical white sect. Then there’s the Bill Ayers connection. By the time the MSM got through with him he was made to look like the innocent victim of a smear campaign. Again, imagine had McCain or Palin been 50 miles from Ayers house, how that would have been played? And during the campaign, did you ever see Obama seriously challenged to answer the really hard questions? Did anyone really look seriously at his credentials? Did anyone ask why Joe the Plumber, was discredited and ridiculed by the media? And speaking of ridicule, the relentless slice and dice job perpetrated against Sarah Palin Saturday Night Live, must surely go down as one of the most mean-spirited, unconscionable attacks ever perpetrated on an American political figure. Where was the media when Palin was being portrayed as a bumbling idiot with the IQ of her shoe size? The media was in the cheering section egging the campaign on while helping orchestrate and perpetuate the vicious smear tactics. And who can forget the phony clothing budget tempest? Why was none of this foisted upon the Obamas? After Obama was declared the winner and he had his family onstage, why did no one mention the dress Michelle Obama was wearing? How much did it cost? Who was the designer? It didn’t look like it came off the rack at K-Mart. The journalism to which I was introduced in 1965, died this year.  In their rush to embrace Obama, journalists surrendered any claim they might have had to belonging to a “profession.” Today, it has become something less than a trade, regardless of the number of university degrees one can earn in the field. Journalism is no longer honorable. It wallows in its own verbal excrement and self-interest. It is a sorry shadow of its former self, bowing and scraping to those who love power for its own sake. After all, who told the media to refrain from using Obama’s Middle name, Hussein during the election campaign? And why did they comply? The New York Times only used the name the day after the election. How contemptible. Who will now stand up to president-elect Obama? Who will ask the hard questions and face the wrath like that heaped on the Florida radio station? Who will risk being labelled un-American, racist or fascist if they dare question his motives or policies? It certainly won’t be media outlets like the New York Times or CCN or any of the other big players in the U.S. They have as much credibility as a supermarket tabloid. In the final analysis, what the American media has done is to steal from the American people. They have stolen the right of Americans to really know for whom they were voting. They stole the right to know for what their choice of candidate really stood. And they stole the right to know what their candidate really planned. And the media should have explained what Obama’s distribution of wealth plan really means. Because they backed Obama for president, the mainstream media has taken itself out of contention as the intermediary between government and the people. When the day comes that the media is seriously challenged over its lopsided coverage, how will they answer? Will they deny it? One CNN survey showed just before Election Day that 70 per cent of media coverage of Obama was positive, while 60 per cent of coverage for McCain was negative. At the end of the day it does not matter who won the election or who the media supported. What the American people must be concerned about, is who and what causes will they nurture in the future? About what else will the media not tell the truth? John McCain and Sarah Palin did not get a fair shake from the media. Who next, then, will be their targets?
