Like Tweety of cartoon fame, We ‘Tawt we taw a puddy tat’ when two-time presidential loser Mitt Romney tried to hurl his feline self at Republican front-runner Donald trump on CNN this morning. Up to now other than watching his son Josh Romney try to force a primary challenger on Utah Senator Mike Lee, the most conscientious conservative in office today, it’s been a case of of ‘cat’s got your tongue’ for Romney on the 2016 presidency. But now that it looks like business mogul Donald Trump has a real shot at the presidency from millions of 8-year-long disenfranchised Americans, Romney comes crawling out of his gilded ‘puddy tat’ cage.
Shouldn’t folks remind him, “The election’s over, Mitt, and you so roundly lost. The catnip sent his way by the apoplectic GOP establishment, the same one who sent him out unprepared on the campaign trail before, was the lure that brought him out again today. It’s always a big boo-boo sending out a pampered house cat to go in hot pursuit after a lion, and it will take a lot more than Mommy GOP’s licks to heal the boo-boos left on the hide of Mitt, the over rated house cat. When the Republican Establishment sent Romney to face off with President Barack Obama, he blew it, causing some pundits to say he deliberately threw the race. For reasons known only to himself, Romney thought politesse was the gentleman’s way to deal with a back-for-second-term Obama. Obama took the politesse and spit it back at Gentleman Romney. Michelle Obama, who saw this as her hubby’s derring-do, broke all debate rules by loudly applauding him during the debate’s most pivotal moment. CNN debate moderator Candy Crowley, who later tried to sneak away from her bold stance, ‘corrected’ Romney’s charge that Obama had referred to the Benghazi scandal as a “terrorist attack” in the White House Rose Garden.

It was over for Romney then, and it’s over for Romney now. What is it about failed GOP presidential nominees that they think they own the right to lecture you even after humiliating election defeat? Like Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton they need to be shown off the stage. “Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney thinks "Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud" and that he's "playing the American public for suckers,.” (CNN, March 3, 2016)
“Romney, the party's nominee in 2012, urged Americans "to make the right choices" and not support the GOP front runner during a speech he gave this morning at the University of Utah's Hinckley Institute of Politics Forum. “With Dr. Ben Carson bowing out of tonight's Republican presidential debate, Romney promoted the remaining candidates. According to the former Massachusetts governor, "the only serious policy proposals that deal with the broad range of national challenges we confront have come from Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and John Kasich."
While he’s aiming at Trump, he’s taking down Cruz, Rubio and Kasich instead, as Romney’s blessings come as a kiss of death. From Romney’s “what-if’ Trump becoming president category,:
  • His domestic policies would lead to recession.
  • His foreign policies would make America and the world less safe.
  • He has neither the temperament nor the judgment to be president.”
  • And his personal qualities would mean that America would cease to be a shining city on a hill.
Romney tried for what CNN described as a "twisted example of evil trumping good: "Trump's claims that he admires Russian President Vladimir Putin while calling "George W. Bush a liar."  It is clear that Romney thinks a Trump nomination is troublesome for both the Republican Party and the country. “In the wake of Super Tuesday results, Romney will also addressed what many are presuming the general election will look like: Hillary Clinton vs. Trump. (CNN) Pointing to the polls, Romney believes that the current GOP frontrunner "relishes any poll that reflects what he thinks of himself." General election polls, however, say "that he will lose to Hillary Clinton."
“According to Romney, nominating Trump to represent the Republican Party will only secure Clinton's victory in November. “Romney deems Clinton "untrustworthy" and "dishonest." He will tout Clinton's performance as secretary of state and argue that she "compromised our national secrets."  The 2012 nominee was not expected to make any other announcements in his speech today. Romney "understand(s) the anger Americans feel today" but hopes that such anger is "transformed into energy directed for good."
Where has Romney been during Clinton’s ongoing lies on Benghazi? Licking his wounds from last time out, that’s where. Today’s disgraceful attempt to stop The Donald from gaining election is proof positive that the Republican establishment will try to stuff anything down We the People’s Throat--including moldy cat food. Meanwhile, Romney’s unwanted mewlings are for naught as time will prove that rather than turning people against populist Trump, all he did was to get him elected as president.

Romney when it was HIS turn
