Founding fathers are a very popular group. One can almost hear them saying, “Go Donald, Go!” For their goals are the same, the unshackling of the press from their masters.

A movement has to have a common enemy to coalesce around. Trump has chosen the fake news writers and publishers. Good choice? Yes, because they can't, at least effectively, fight back. Similar to the demonizing of smokers that led to all the smoking bans. Smokers couldn't fight back, they were easy pickings.
And further, demonizing the press is a twofer. The media has openly aligned itself with the Democrat party, hence the Democrat party becomes the real common enemy. And since freedom of the press envisions a party neutral press there is traction to be gained outside the Trump movement. Maybe a threefer. The press has aligned itself with the bureaucratic state, and all the Democrat party identity groups, minorities, illegal immigrants, cop haters, anti-semites, unions, and by their measures, women. It is difficult, therefore, for Democrats to disassociate from the common enemy, the press. They laid down with wolves, now the wolves are on the run. Why is it difficult? First, The Democrat party and their identity groups owe their power to the press. Second, most importantly, our founding fathers never envisioned the free press would become captive to a political party, or vice verse. It is this latter that is so difficult, one either sides with the founding fathers or unpopularly, sides against them. And the founding fathers are a very popular group. One can almost hear them saying, “Go Donald, Go!” For their goals are the same, the unshackling of the press from their masters.
