Egyptians no longer have sympathy for Palestinians of Gaza when Israel bombs Gaza, targeting leaders of Hamas and other terrorist groups that spread on the border of Egypt

Why the Egyptians have no sympathy for the Palestinians of Gaza during the Israeli bombardment

CAIRO, EGYPT—In the past, when Israel was bombing the Gaza Strip and killing Palestinians, screams would rise in Egypt to stand next to the Palestinian "brothers", and asking the Egyptian president to stop the Israeli strikes on Gaza. Many civil society organizations would collect donations for the affected people and send dozens of trucks full of medical aid and food to Gaza.
Journalists wrote dozens of articles condemning the Israeli aggression on unarmed "innocent" Palestinians, as others would praise the resistance of the brave soldiers resisting the Israeli attacks on Gaza to defend defending their lands and families. Today, the Israeli bombardment on the Gaza Strip, draws unexpected silence among Egyptians on all levels... It's something tangible, you can feel it in the air, the kind of fact which is unwritten and unspoken frankly... but it remains prevalent and certain. So what happened? why this sudden change and who’s behind it? It’s easy to note the apathy that prevails among the Egyptians when they hear about or watch the news of the Israeli bombardment on the Gaza Strip and the resulting deaths and injuries; the demolition of houses and the ensuing panic among civilians. It is rare to find someone saying the same words that were uttered before in similar cases of Israeli attacks on Gaza or Palestine—especially among young people and new generations in their daily talks and on social media networks and the internet.

The Palestinian issue has become the last thing the Egyptians are looking for to “waste” their time talking about or making an effort to participate in it in any way. There are several reasons for this, not the least of which is the the economy in Egypt; the increases in the prices of most everything. There are some who would also say it’s because of the month of Ramadan with fasting and worshipping not leaving room for other "petty" distractions right now. Few ever mention the ‘real’ reason for this "semi-ignorance" to what’s happening in Gaza and the people there , who who already live under the rule of terrorists, who call themselves Hamas. Hamas, which seized power in Gaza by force, has subjected the Palestinians to a state of humiliation, poverty and hunger. Because of their actions, they have placed Gaza in a position of rejection and hated among other Arabs, especially Egyptians. There is a feeling of hatred for those who live on Egypt's eastern border in Gaza, because of what Hamas is doing to Egypt and their continuous malicious attempts to harm its people and security forces. Despite the fact that Egypt has always protected the Palestinians, sacrificed a lot for the Palestinian cause, and has always paid the bill for the Palestinians’ internal differences, their fights for power and their hatred and betrayal for each other from the 1940s to the present day. Despite all this, Egyptians have received in return only ingratitude, cruelty and hatred, accusations, conspiracies, attempts to break the Egyptian army and the assassinations of its soldiers. Mercenary Hamas prefers to be a tool in the hands of whomever pays them the most, and those who wish to implement their own agenda against Egypt with aims to destabilize Egypt, hurt its economy and divide its land. Whether it’s for the benefit of the Muslim Brotherhood or Al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations or even Turkey and Iran, Hamas did not hesitate stabbing Egypt in its back. They dug tunnels for smuggling weapons, drugs, terrorists and bombs that kill Egyptians civilians; hosted extremists and terrorists, gave them the necessary support of money and weapons to be used in assassinations in the Sinai and elsewhere. Hamas also sent its members to Egypt to storm the prisons and help the Muslim Brotherhood to escape during the revolution of January 2011—as proved by investigations. They concealed and helped the fugitives, criminals convicted in terrorism cases and provided them safe haven. They became engaged in terrorist activities in Egypt, sending word to their contacts to sign up, sending money and orders to their followers and militias who enjoy the protection of Hamas in the Palestinian territories. Throughout the last three long years, Hamas was planning with the Brotherhood to overthrow the Egyptian regime and seize power, and the Brotherhood organization had already succeeded to "hijack" the revolution. During Morsi's and the Brotherhood rule, Egypt’s lands and border crossings were opened wide to Hamas and the Palestinians, and the Brotherhood sent them food, fuel, medicine and money in huge quantities, while the Egyptians were suffering from major crises in fuel, and the disappearance of many kinds of medicine and high food prices— it was as if the Brotherhood just ruled Egypt for the benefit of Hamas… not for Egyptians. When Egyptians revolted against the Brotherhood and overthrew them, leaders Hamas went postal, filling their hearts with desires for revenge against the Egyptians, to make them pay the price for their refusal of that brotherhood terrorist group. Hamas sought with all its powers to ignite the Egyptian reality by entering large numbers of terrorists through tunnels in Sinai, as they smuggled tons of weapons, and distributed bombs across Egypt to be used later in the killing of the Egyptians. They only recently began to assist terrorists called "ISIS" to be able to settle and spread in North Sinai in preparation for declaring Sinai as an Islamic State belonging to the new caliphate, which was announced by ISIS only days ago. After this history, is it really any wonder why the Egyptians no longer have sympathy for the Palestinians of Gaza when Israel bombs Gaza, targeting leaders of Hamas and other terrorist groups that spread on the border of Egypt?
