CANADA: Minor League Hockey Coaches Forced Into Gender Identity Training

Minor league hockey coaches in Ontario, Canada, are now being forced to complete training on transgenderism in compliance with an Ontario Human Rights settlement reached with Hockey Canada three years ago, according to LifeSiteNews.

“The ruling dates back to a 2013 complaint filed with the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal by Jesse Thompson, a girl who identifies as a boy,” reports the outlet. “Hockey Canada agreed to a settlement in September 2014 that included its Ontario associations putting gender identity training in place for their more than 30,000 coaches and trainers by 2017.”—More…

Church Provides ‘Sanctuary’ For Illegal Immigrants

Another liberal church is teaching its congregation that breaking the law is perfectly in line with the Gospel by offering “sanctuary” to illegal immigrants.

According to The Huffington Post, Southside Presbyterian Church in Tucson, Arizona, has provided a physical safe haven for illegal immigrants facing immediate risk of deportation, a trend among churches that has more than doubled since President Trump announced a coming crackdown on illegal immigration.—More…

Pelosi: All those people who want me to step down represent the ‘vitality’ of our party!

The rumbling began during the last election.  Then the Democrats lost to Donald Trump, and the rumbling grew louder.  Nancy Pelosi was, increasingly, being viewed as the liability that she unquestionably is. Over the course of the last few weeks, we’ve heard from an ever-growing array of Democrats who think it’s time for Nancy Pelosi to get the boot from her leadership position - if not retire altogether.

But don’t tell Nancy that.  She may not think winning is important, and the Dems are currently at their lowest level of power in a hundred years, but she’s pretty sure her party is doing just fine.

Liberal college kids love Bernie’s new tax plan! ....And then they find out it’s actually Trump’s

Unlike some of my conservative colleagues, I’m not entirely sold on what we’ve been shown of the President’s new tax initiative.  I’m squarely in what’s generally considered the middle class and, as far as I can tell, it will end up raising taxes for myself and my family.  I’m willing to wait and see how it all shakes out before passing final judgment, but I’m not going to support any tax plan that doesn’t represent an across the board cut for ALL Americans.

Republicans have control of both houses, the Presidency, and enjoy a favorable Supreme Court, yet they’re fighting for a progressive tax scheme and a budget that contains little or nothing in the way of cuts?  To me, that smells suspiciously like the kind of small ball we’ve come to expect from the current crop of congressional squishes. I have no intention of beating the tax reform drum just because “we need to do something.”

Bernie Sanders can’t define difference between Democrats and Socialists

Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz have become the most visible exponents of their respective ideologies, socialism for Sanders and free enterprise conservatism for Cruz. The CNN debates are a circus. But they’re still far better than the miserable spectacle of the actual presidential debates in which the GOP candidates were encouraged to launch petty personal attacks at each other and the Dems were encouraged not to get in Hillary’s way. And an actual debate about issues is now so exotic that it actually qualifies as entertainment.

Sea levels have been rising for 10,000 years

During the last ice age almost all of Canada, along with parts of Europe and Asia, were buried beneath one to two miles of ice. At the same time, sea levels stood 350 to 400 feet lower than today.

Sea levels were so low that the entire continental shelf, at least in eastern North America, was above water. Many states on the eastern seaboard were twice as big as today. New Jersey’s shoreline, for example, stood 60 to 100 miles east of its present location.

Activist Leaders Legislating an End to Christian Society

Reading the “news”  over the ‘Net these days is enough to want to pull one’s hair out.  But it is the mainstream media reports of how Western leaders are turning on their own people, not the Fake News that most rational folk can spot at a glance that is really the most worrisome.

Easy to dismiss theories from activist talking heads like Sally Kohn over at CNN, who said Harvey Weinstein’s fall “grew from rage over Trump”. (CNN), or that cowgirl hat-wearing “yippie yippie ki yo, “yippie yippie ki yay” Democrat Congresswoman Frederica Wilson thinks her fallacious Gold Star attacks on President Trump earned her “rock star” status”.(Washington Examiner)

U.S. and Israeli UN Ambassadors take the “Outlaw” Iranian Regime to Task

U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley used her entire speech to the UN Security Council on Wednesday to denounce the Iranian regime on multiple grounds.  It was the Security Council first meeting on the ‘Situation in the Middle East’ after President Donald Trump’s statement on the new American policy on Iran. The session was supposed to be devoted to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. However, Ambassador Haley departed from the monthly ritual during which Israel is normally singled out for criticism by other Council members. She went after Iran instead. She explained why the Trump administration decided to take “a comprehensive approach to confronting the Iranian regime,” which does not give the regime a get out of jail free card even if it is in technical compliance with the loophole-ridden nuclear deal agreed to by the Obama administration known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The IRS just gave Republicans a big opportunity on Obamacare

The Internal Revenue Service announced that it will no longer accept tax returns that leave out whether the filer has health insurance. This presents a great opportunity for Republicans to take a very big step toward repealing Obamacare. If only they’ll seize it.

According to CNBC:

Slapping Down A Democrat Smear-Monger

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly pushed back against a sleazy left-wing congresswoman who is trying to exploit a young soldier’s combat death in West Africa to score cheap political points against President Trump.

“I was stunned when I came to work yesterday morning, and broken-hearted at what I saw a member of Congress doing,” said Kelly, a retired Marine Corps general whose son was killed on the battlefield.

Democrat congresswoman on Weinstein behavior: The women have responsibility here too, you know

I don’t get the impression that this is about being in Harvey Weinstein’s back pocket, although it’s hard to be sure. She’s not coming off as a mealy-mouthed liberal who has to come up with some way to split the difference between doctrinaire feminism and taking care of your sugar daddy. I know that spirit. I don’t discern it here.

What I think I see is an old-time, traditional woman - probably from the black church tradition - who remembers what she was taught as a girl and probably thinks it’s still good advice. And I’m not saying it isn’t, but trying to apply it here seems to completely misread what really happened at Miramax, and what appears to be going on more generally in Hollywood:

Chief of Staff Kelly brings unprecedented silence to White House press briefing

You could hear a pin drop during White House Chief-of-Staff John Kelly’s press briefing today. Instead of the usual short statement followed by questions and answers, Kelly spent most of the 20 minute conference explaining the process that follows the death of a uniformed service member. Included were Kelly’s emotional description of condolences received from son Robert’s squad members following his combat death in Afghanistan. But Kelly took special time to denounce the actions and comments of Florida Democratic Congresswoman Frederica Wilson.

A US consulting firm with ties to the Clintons lobbied on behalf of Russia’s nuclear giant

A Russian company, whose former executive was the target of an FBI investigation and who admitted to corrupt payments to influence the awarding of contracts with the Russian state-owned nuclear energy corporation, paid millions of dollars in consulting fees to an American firm in 2010 and 2011 to lobby the U.S. regulatory agencies and assist the Russians, who would go on to acquire twenty percent of American uranium, according to court documents, a former FBI informant and extensive interviews with law enforcement sources.

Roughly $3 million in payments from 2010 to 2011 were made to APCO Worldwide Inc. The firm also provided in kind pro-bono services to Bill Clinton’s foundation, the Clinton Global Initiative, services they begin 2007, according to APCO officials who spoke with Circa and press releases from the company. In 2010, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was part of the Obama administration board that would eventually approve the sale of U.S. uranium supply to a Russian company.—More…
