Former Dem staffer accuses Al Franken of forcing a kiss - said it was his ‘right as an entertainer’

Former Dem staffer accuses Al Franken of forcing a kiss
Oh dear.  Al Franken may have another reason to be “embarrassed and ashamed” this morning, as The Politico is reporting that yet another woman has come forward with an eerily familiar story regarding Franken’s unwanted advances.  This time, the incident took place in 2006 when Al Franken was hosting a radio show for the ill-fated ‘Air America’ radio network.

According to the report, Franken trapped a congressional aide in his office and attempted to force himself upon her - then said doing so was his “right as an entertainer.”

Jerusalem is Capital of Israel

 Jerusalem is Capital of Israel,
WASHINGTON, D.C. - President Donald Trump affirmed that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, and promised to begin the process of relocating the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem. “President Trump’s affirmation that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel represents a significant and long overdue shift in U.S. policy,” said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel, President of Christians in Defense of Israel, and Founder and Chairman of Covenant Journey.

Gulp: North Korea now has an ICBM that may be able to hit . . . Washington D.C.?

North Korea now has an ICBM
Forget Seattle. Forget San Francisco. Forget Denver. The west may be safe by virtue of its own relative lack of importance. If the Norks really have a missile that can hit Washington D.C., we’re way past the point of guessing as to the limits of their capabilities. It’s now just a question of whether we do something definitive to stop them before they decide to go ahead and strike.

But can they? Er, possibly, although the need to carry a nuclear warhead complicates the matter because it adds weight to the flight. But based on the successful trajectory of a launch from about a week ago, the Norks and a lot of other people seem to think they can do it by leaving the Earth’s atmosphere and returning at just the right point:

The missile was fired just before 3 a.m. Wednesday local time from a site about 20 miles north of the North Korean capital, Pyongyang, according to U.S., Japanese and South Korean authorities. It flew for almost an hour, covering about 620 miles, before splashing down in the waters between Japan and the Korean Peninsula inside Japan’s exclusive economic zone, which extends 200 nautical miles from its coast.

Dianne Feinstein warns Trump it’s ‘terrible’ to move Israel embassy - too bad she voted to do it in

Dianne Feinstein
Earlier, Dan did a fine job of outlining the unarguable fact that - according to United States law - our embassy in Israel was already supposed to be in Jerusalem. Every six months for almost two decades, Presidents have been signing waivers delaying the inevitable, but the law clearly states that the move was supposed to happen.  Democrats, who are desperately trying to make people forget the last eight years of Middle East policy, want to gin up as much fear as possible. To that end, they’re acting like the move is the end of the world.

Eternal hypocrite and waffler, Dianne Feinstein, has been outspoken in her belief that Donald Trump is going to make a “terrible” mistake by doing what the law called for.

Another win: Supreme Court okays Trump travel ban

Another win: Supreme Court okays Trump travel ban
This year has seen unprecedented — and unconstitutional — meddling in the decisions of a sitting president. Despite it all, President Trump has been able to sidestep and undermine much of this interference simply by enforcing current law. As a result, illegal immigration is down, the asylum program, which had become little more than an alternative form of immigration, is slowing as authorities check for attempted fraud, and refugee resettlement levels are lower because of Trump’s reduced annual caps. Meanwhile, President Trump patiently took the constitutional route of appealing the travel ban injunctions to the Supreme Court, confident that the justices would rule in his favor.

Yesterday, in a 7-to-2 decision, the Supreme Court did just that, allowing Presidential Proclamation 9645, the third iteration of President Trump’s travel ban, to come fully into effect pending two legal challenges expected to be heard soon in the oft-overturned Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Um . . . recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital has been U.S. law since 1995

Bill Clinton signed the Jerusalem Embassy Act into law
The headlines over the past 24 hours have screamed that Donald Trump is breaking big time with U.S. policy with his reported decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Aside from the fact that the president can’t break with U.S. policy because he’s the one who makes the policy, Trump is doing no such thing. What Trump does that infuriates the Beltway crowd is actually do things that other politicians only say they’re going to do.

In fact, it is official U.S. policy to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and has been for 22 years, thanks to an act signed into law by none other than Bill Clinton:

Pelosi: GOP tax plan is ‘the end of the world!’ Is ‘like death!’ ...It’s ‘Armageddon!’

Pelosi: GOP tax plan is 'the end of the world!' Is 'like death!' ...It's 'Armageddon!'
Yesterday, in discussing the left-wing reaction to the GOP’s tax bill, I said the meltdown consisted of “extreme hyperbole, apocalyptic warnings, and fire-and-brimstone diatribes.”  If I’m being honest, I thought I was employing a little hyperbole of my own. Surely the left isn’t stupid enough to go out there and compare a relatively mild tax overhaul to the Book of Revelation!

They are that stupid, and don’t call me Shirley.

Check out Nancy Pelosi, who says that the GOP tax bill is - quite literally - “the end of the world.”  It’s actual, honest-to-God, old testament, fire-and-brimstone “Armageddon.”

It’s…“like death.”

ABC News president absolutely excoriates news staff over Brian Ross’s fake Flynn story

ABC News president absolutely excoriates news staff over Brian Ross's fake Flynn story
If you’ve ever been part of a news organization, you’re familiar with the weekly editorial meeting. Everyone on the team gathers and discusses upcoming stories, in addition to reviewing those recently published or aired and discussing anything that could have been done better.

Usually it’s run by one of the editors. When one of the really big bosses gets involved, it’s unusual. When the big boss calls in, it’s a pretty big deal. Especially if it’s because he’s mad.

So when ABC News president James Goldston called in yesterday to his crew’s Monday editorial meeting, he had a few things to say about Brian Ross’s gigantic screwup on the Mike Flynn story last week. He was not pleased. And apparently Ross has some frenemies within ABC because someone went ahead and gave audio of the call to CNN, which to its credit didn’t bury it out of concern it would help President Trump - as we might reasonably expect CNN to do given its own anti-Trump behavior.

National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act advancing slowly - 23 State Attorneys General sign letter o

National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act
Are you a gun owner?  Are you a gun owner with a concealed carry permit?  If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, the odds are you’ve been keeping your eye on the slow, steady, advancement of the National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act.

The Bill, which is currently inching its way out of Committee and onto the House floor, would mean that the rights of a concealed weapons permit holder in one state would be recognized in other states that allow similar licenses.  It would make movement, and self-defense, less complicated for interstate travelers who are already qualified to carry on their home turf.

It also just makes sense. After all, if you have a concealed carry license in one state, you’ve obviously passed a federal background check.  You shouldn’t be penalized thanks to the labyrinthine firearms laws that come into play when moving about the country.

Trump is not ‘shrinking a monument’, he’s reversing a shameless federal land grab

Trump is not 'shrinking a monument', he's reversing a shameless federal land grab
The media are wetting themselves today because President Trump is “shrinking federal monuments.” You’d think he was taking an axe to the Washington Monument and chopping it down.

But there are real monuments and then there are shameless federal land-grabs that get labeled “monuments” before a gullible news media that gladly adopt whatever language a Democratic president uses to spin his actions. The Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante monuments were just that. There are elements of these pieces of land that have some historical value, but Bill Clinton and Barack Obama exploited that to declare massive swaths of land part of the “monuments,” which put them almost completely under federal control over the objection of the State of Utah and all of Utah’s congressional delegation.

Scandals Reveal Leftist Debauchery

Scandals Reveal Leftist Debauchery
John Conyers, a Democrat member of the House of Representatives, has been caught up in the plague of sexual impropriety scandals infesting the liberal left ever since they decided to open Pandora’s Box with their false accusations of Alabama’s Judge Roy Moore.  Conyers has been irreverent in the face of the accusations, suggesting that he is somehow immune to such things, and above the law, because of his position in government.

Conyers’ colleague, Jim Clyburn, was asked about the accusations against Conyers, while walking to an elevator with Congressional Black Caucus chairman Cedric Richmond (D-LA).  The question posed was, “Other men in other industries have faced similar accusations … and gotten out of the way, resigned, stepped down, far faster than he has, right … Harvey Weinstein, Charlie Rose, Matt Lauer?”

Supreme Court restores Trump’s travel ban

Supreme Court restores Trump’s travel ban
The Supreme Court has allowed President Trump’s ban on travelers from Islamic terrorist-infested nations to take full effect, marking a huge victory for the rule of law, common sense, and U.S. national security.

“This a substantial victory for the safety and security of the American people,” U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said after the orders were handed down.

At 7 to 2, the vote Monday to lift two lower court stays hindering enforcement of Presidential Proclamation 9645 while several legal challenges inch their way through the judicial system, wasn’t even close. Unsurprisingly, leftist Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor voted to deny the Trump administration’s application to rescind the stays. As is its custom, the Supreme Court did not offer a rationale for its decision in the orders.

DOJ demotes official who concealed his meetings with Fusion GPS, where oh by the way his wife worked

 Bruce Ohr
How much worse is this going to get? And not for President Trump. With each passing day it seems the FBI, the Justice Department and the Mueller investigative team has more to answer for, and fewer answers to offer for their inappropriate actions, bias and stonewalling.

Remember, the big question is this: Did the FBI (which is part of the Justice Department) use the fake Trump dossier compiled by Fusion GPS, and paid for by the Clinton campaign, to convince the FISA court to approve wiretaps on Trump campaign officials Paul Manafort and Carter Page? If so, then you had a Democrat administration spying on a Republican campaign team, having used the legal system under false pretenses to gain permission to do so. It’s exactly what Richard Nixon tried to do to the McGovern campaign in 1972, but accomplished with a FISA application full of falsehoods instead of with a break-in.

House Votes to Stop Funding Terrorism

Taylor Force Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The House voted in favor of the Taylor Force Act, which will defund the Palestinian Authority (PA) until they cease and denounce funding and support for terrorists and their families for acts against Israel and the United States. The Taylor Force Act already passed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and awaits the full vote of the Senate.

Liberty Counsel and Christians in Defense of Israel have been instrumental in encouraging legislators to pass the Taylor Force Act. This legislation is named in memory of U.S. army veteran and Vanderbilt student, Taylor Force, who served in combat deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq, only to be senselessly killed as a civilian by a Palestinian terrorist in Israel.

Mueller’s crooked probe nabs Flynn

Mueller’s crooked probe nabs Flynn
Special Counsel Robert Mueller has finally gotten his man – in this case, the first actual Trump administration casualty, retired Lt. General Michael Flynn, who was briefly National Security Advisor.

This might be an impressive feat, if Flynn were actually being prosecuted, or had pled to, a crime involving collusion with Russia that actually affected the 2016 election. You know, the supposed subject of the Mueller counterintelligence investigation of Russian electoral collusion with the Trump campaign. Instead, Mueller wore down the lieutenant general with extreme legal and financial pressure, and possibly legal threats against Flynn’s son, to force a plea of lying to the FBI about conversations Flynn had with the Russian ambassador last December – you know, in conversations long after the 2016 election was over. It also might be more impressive if the FBI – then under Trump nemesis and Mueller protégé James Comey – had not already concluded that Flynn was not lying to them about this conversation, but that he was simply not remembering things correctly. And, it might be still more impressive if it made any sense at all for Flynn to have “lied” to the FBI regarding his entirely legal and normal conversation with the Russian ambassador.

Looks like Justice Kennedy will be the deciding vote in the Masterpiece Cakeshop case

Looks like Justice Kennedy will be the deciding vote in the Masterpiece Cakeshop case
I suppose this is what you’d want in a good Supreme Court Justice. He asks challenging, probing questions to both sides and doesn’t give a hint of which way he’s leaning. If that’s the standard, then Anthony Kennedy wins Justice of the Year with his performance in today’s hearing for Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission.

The problem, of course, is that this case wouldn’t be happening at all if Justice Kennedy hadn’t joined the majority in forcing gay marriage down the throats of all 50 states back in 2015. The Supremes are now being asked to decide whether Christian bakers can be forced to bake a cake for a the gay weddings that Kennedy made possible, and as is so often the case, it appears he’ll be the deciding vote on this one too:

He asked a lawyer for the Trump administration whether the baker, Jack Phillips, could put a sign in his window saying, “We don’t bake cakes for gay weddings.” The lawyer, Noel J. Francisco said yes, so long as the cakes were custom made.

Congrats, Detroit! John Conyers makes it official. Announces retirement - endorses son as replacement,
Congratulations, Detroit.  Soon, you will finally be free of the elderly, crooked, shameless race-baiter that has darkened your political door for over 50 years.

John Conyers has announced - in a rambling, barely coherent, interview - that he is retiring, effective immediately.

As a replacement, John Conyers has recommended none other than ...John Conyers.  If you haven’t guessed it, John Conyers III is his son, and would carry on the family’s fine, unsullied, name.

Time has come to repeal the Obamacare individual mandate

Time has come to repeal the Obamacare individual mandate
Senators have passed tax reform legislation that includes a repeal of Obamacare’s individual mandate. In this writer’s opinion, the House of Representatives, which passed its version of tax reform without such a repeal, should now follow the Senate’s lead.

The individual mandate is a gross violation of individual liberty and is not helping to make insurance more affordable.

A penalty on people who do not purchase health insurance, the individual mandate cost $695 or 2.5 percent of income (whichever is greater) for noncompliance in tax year 2017. Supporters of Obamacare claim the Constitution’s Commerce Clause gives Congress the power to force people to buy health insurance. While the Founding Fathers did give government the power to regulate commerce, nowhere did they say it could be used to require individuals to purchase insurance.

GENERAL FLYNN & The Fruit of the Poisonous Tree

GENERAL FLYNN & The Fruit of the Poisonous Tree
Team Mueller, special prosecutors extraordinaire established on the demands of the losing Party of Tolerance and Social Justice, charged General Michael Flynn, a temporary (transition) national security advisor to President Donald Trump, with a single count of lying to the FBI.

The Hope for Change is that Flynn will topple the Trump Presidency and reverse the will of The People and the election results of 2016 with his testimony. The hope is the astonishing delusion purveyed by the mainstream media that it is illegal or improper for a free US citizen, businessman, candidate, or transition team member, to speak with Russians about any subject they so choose - and also choose not to disclose that fact.

These failures to disclose include matters of national importance such as the ingredients of Russian dressing one may pour on one’s salad, or the best brand of Russian caviar and vodka, and even the latest shade of lipstick to be worn by Russian transgenders of the Democrat faith about to convert to Islam. And imagine this: even foreign policy and sanctions. The Logan Law, just to inform delusional Democrats, no longer exists and is not enforced. Moreover for liberals watching CNN, collusion is not a crime.
