Pentagon ‘three-day blitz’ plan for Iran

Dear Sarah, Your article sounds alarmist but, in fact, the Bush Administration is preparing for a “blitz” against Iran ever since 2003. The Pentagon must have ready plans for that strike, but the final decision is pending until a favorable moment or a needed justification.
I don’t trust the Iranian Mullahs. They have been cheating the West ever since Ayatollah Khomeini came back from France. From a military point of view, a quick strike against Iranian nuclear sites, military installations and government structures could be “practical”, though not so effective as the Israeli air-strike against a single Iraqi nuclear installation, the Osirak.
The main consideration: “to strike or not to strike” should be political, not military. The United States is waging two wars now: in Afghanistan and in Iraq. Not fully victorious. The U.S. prestige is at a low level and anti-American sentiments are widespread all over the World.
Not a good moment to open a new front.
