The skeleton in Obama’s money closet
 By Judi McLeod

imageRobert Wolf, CEO of UBS Americas, who has bundled more than $370,850 for Barack Obama so far this year, is one of the most embarrassing skeletons in BO’s money closet, now that the financial institution Wolf heads up in America has been outed in The Nation’s Attack of the Global Pirate Bankers.

“…This crowded docket, combined with the UBS mea culpa, almost distracted us from the sordid details of the Levin Committee’s actual findings,” investigative journalist James S. Henry, wrote in The Nation on Tuesday.

It’s not as if Wolf is just another number in the contribution side of the ledger paying for Obama’s race to the White House.

Among the groupies pushing Obama’s rock star-status, Wolf stands at the front of the line.

The Day Canada Free Press dumped Michael Savage
 By Judi McLeod

Jumping to the defense of nationally syndicated radio giant Michael Savage for standing by his criticism of the autism “racket”, yesterday WorldNetDaily (WND) wrote that the autism controversy was “sparked by a left-leaning media watchdog’s campaign against him.”

Wrong.

No one other than a loose-tongued Michael Savage sparked the autism controversy.

Tarip Aziz: The war must go on
 By Ludwig de Braeckeleer

Part 18 - JULY 20 1988
‘’The decision was like drinking poison.’’—Ayatollah Khomeini

Iranian leader Ayatollah Khomeini accepted a truce with Iraq. NB. In late 2006, Iranians were stunned to learn that the head of the Revolutionary guards, not Khomeini, had in fact made the decision to end the war.

Movie Director throws spotlight on terrorist training camps in Target Practice
 By Judi McLeod

imageThe military compounds training terrorists on American and Canadian soil, that everyone talks about but no one seems to do much about, has made it to the silver screen.

There is no doubt that director Richmond Riedel’s realistic film, Target Practice takes you there.

Starring in a timely topic, Target Practice gives new meaning to the description of art imitating real life.

Fast-paced and intense, the film has the distinction of premiering in two high-profile film festivals in the Los Angeles area on the same night.

On Friday, July 25, Target Practice premiers at the 11th Annual Dances With Films Independent Film Festival (DWF). Ditto for the 4th Annual Action On Film International Film Festival (AOF).

American Politics
Obama’s Pompous Circumstance International Pandering Bound to Backfire
 By JB Williams

Presidential candidate Barack Obama has taken his pander machine on the road around the world in an effort to demonstrate two points vital to the success of his campaign for the office of Commander-in-Chief.

McCain Has Plenty of Reason to Pick Pawlenty
 By Aaron Goldstein

Over the past several days, speculation as to who John McCain will select to be his running mate on the GOP ticket increased considerably when it was learned an announcement might come imminently.  While as of this writing no announcement has been forthcoming, if nothing else, it has given the media an opportunity to take a cold shower from their fawning over Barack Obama.

W Uses Pully Bulpit to Promote Obamamania
 By John Lillpop

-- Satire --
Egad!

In their worse nightmares, John McCain and the Republican Party could not have imagined the doomsday scenario being played out at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Who is the REAL Obama?
 By Dr. Laurie Roth

Aren’t’ you relieved that Obama showed such good judgment as the wanna be next President to get rid of that pesky, annoying American flag painted on his 757 campaign plane?

American Freedom
Can We Turn Back The Clock?
 By Ron Ewart

Time always runs forward.  It has no backward component, unless somehow we invent time travel.  What has taken place IS and no matter how hard we try, history will record it for all to see.

They Paid Dearly For Their Apathy
 By Ron Ewart

It is highly illuminating, if not wholly alarming, that one man was able to “sell” to a significant segment of the German people, his twisted vision of German pride.

Canada
Artist’s banana drains cash
 By Gerry Nicholls

"Look up in the sky, it’s a bird, it’s a plane ... no wait, it’s a giant banana ... from Canada!”

Some befuddled Texan may actually have uttered those words had Montreal artist Cesar Saez been able to turn his dream into reality

If we only knew then what we know now
 By Arthur Weinreb

Paul Martin emerged from the shadows last weekend, appearing on CTV’s Question Period.  For those who may have forgotten, Martin was the guy who was the Right Honourable Prime Minister of Canada for a few months between the long reign of Jean Chrétien and the seemingly never ending minority government of Stephen Harper. Martin was arguing that Omar Khadr, the youngest member of Canada’s first family of terrorism, should be repatriated to Canada. In the interview Paul Martin proved one thing. Despite the passage of time, he’s still, er, Paul Martin.

Energy & Environment
Tilting at T. Boone Picken’s Windmills
 By Alan Caruba

You may have seen the television commercials with T. Boone Pickens, a multi-millionaire who made his money in oil and is now trying to double up selling wind. That is wind as in wind power—as in hundreds and hundreds of wind turbines to generate electricity.

Let’s Ban Al Gore
 By Alan Caruba

[Warning! This is satire. If there is any resemblance to reality in the text below, it is purely intentional.]

Al Gore, former Vice President of the United States, Nobel Peace Prize winner, and winner of a Hollywood Oscar for his documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth”, was at it again, giving another of those “The End is Near” speeches in which he advises the rest of us to stop driving, get rid of our air conditioners, and do everything else to avoid global warming.

Global Warming
Gore getting desperate proof public cooling on GW hoax
 By Dr. Tim Ball

imageComments and reports about global warming are getting silly and even ridiculous.  Al Gore says we have ten years left. We’re told cooling is due to warming. More rain and flooding and less rain and drought are both due to warming. More hurricanes are predicted while fewer occur. Global temperatures declined as much in the first few months of 2008 as they increased in the previous 100 plus years due to warming. Recently we were told global warming is causing an increase in kidney stones in a travesty of geographic correlation assuming cause and effect. One blogger who began recording, with tongue in cheek, all the events attributed to global warming was John Brignell.

American physicists warned not to debate global warming
 By EPW Blog

Excerpt: Bureaucrats at the American Physical Society (APS) have issued a curious warning to their members about an article in one of their own publications. Don’t read this, they say - we don’t agree with it. But what is it about the piece that is so terrible, that like Medusa, it could make men go blind? It’s an article that examines the calculation central to climate models.
