Downfall of capitalism, Overloading government bureaucracy

Co-Opting Cloward-Piven

“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”
-Thomas Jefferson In the 1960s, two Alinsky grads and Columbia sociologists, Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven, devised a scheme to bring about the downfall of capitalism by overloading government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands.

Drawing inspiration from the highly successful Watts riots in 1965, they wrote that the current welfare system provided a social safety net, which only doused the fires of rebellion. Cloward and Piven believed that the poor would only advance if the rest of society was afraid of them. When the system inevitably failed, use that failure to discredit the system. They organized a mass movement to load up the welfare rolls to the breaking point. They first used these “shock troops” in 1975 to flood the welfare rolls in New York City. The scheme worked; New York City went bankrupt and sought a federal bailout. Eventually, Rudy Giuliani had to clean up the mess. Cloward and Piven were big fans of the Trojan Horse movement, that is, a mass movement with an ostensibly legitimate purpose with the true agenda of drafting the poor into service for the revolution. The grand strategy was to use poor people as cannon fodder to tear down the capitalist system. The same tactics were later applied to elections by means of ACORN. The idea was to swamp the voter rolls with invalid registrations; new “voting rights” coalitions were formed to yell “racism” and “disenfranchisement” at every opportunity. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is suddenly all aflutter and warning the party toadies that they are to tremble in the presence of intemperate conservatives. Admittedly, there are few spectacles more intimidating than a coterie of exasperated conservatives. Reportedly, we are being paid princely sums by the insurance companies to appear at Town Hall meetings to confront perfidious politicians about Obama’s health crimes legislation:

5 facts about the anti-reform mobs

  1. These disruptions are being funded and organized by out-of-district special-interest groups and insurance companies who fear that health insurance reform could help Americans, but hurt their bottom line. A group run by the same folks who made the "Swiftboat" ads against John Kerry is compiling a list of congressional events in August to disrupt. An insurance company coalition has stationed employees in 30 states to track where local lawmakers hold town-hall meetings.
  2. People are scared because they are being fed frightening lies. These crowds are being riled up by anti-reform lies being spread by industry front groups that invent smears to tarnish the President's plan and scare voters. But as the President has repeatedly said, health insurance reform will create more health care choices for the American people, not reduce them. If you like your insurance or your doctor, you can keep them, and there is no "government takeover" in any part of any plan supported by the President or Congress.
  3. Their actions are getting more extreme. Texas protesters brought signs displaying a tombstone for Rep. Lloyd Doggett and using the "SS" symbol to compare President Obama's policies to Nazism. Maryland Rep. Frank Kratovil was hanged in effigy outside his district office. Rep. Tim Bishop of New York had to be escorted to his car by police after an angry few disrupted his town hall meeting -- and more examples like this come in every day. And they have gone beyond just trying to derail the President's health insurance reform plans, they are trying to "break" the President himself and ruin his Presidency.
  4. Their goal is to disrupt and shut down legitimate conversation. Protesters have routinely shouted down representatives trying to engage in constructive dialogue with voters, and done everything they can to intimidate and silence regular people who just want more information. One attack group has even published a manual instructing protesters to "stand up and shout" and try to "rattle" lawmakers to prevent them from talking peacefully with their constituents.
  5. Republican leadership is irresponsibly cheering on the thuggish crowds. Republican House Minority Leader John Boehner issued a statement applauding and promoting a video of the disruptions and looking forward to "a long, hot August for Democrats in Congress."
It's time to expose this charade, before it gets more dangerous. Please send these facts to everyone you know. You can also post them on your website, blog, or Face book page. Now, more than ever, we need to stand strong together and defend the truth. Thanks, Jen Jen O'Malley Dillon

In other words, the Democrats are accusing us of behaving like Democrats. Why are conservatives so bothered by this? For once, liberals are actually afraid of us. Conservatives have traditionally been the adults in the room. It’s never our side screaming and setting cars on fire. During the 2000 election dispute, it was hilarious to watch the republicans convening to demonstrate. That blazer wearing, designer coffee drinking and cell phone wielding assemblage didn’t scare anybody. The late, great Tony Snow once suggested that we needed a team of “Rapid Response Republicans.” I’ve often wondered what an organized conservative protest mobilization would look like. Comprehensive advance planning would be mandatory. Who is going to go get the permits? Whose turn is it to make the coffee run? Will there be snacks? Conservatives have a lot to learn about becoming an angry mob. The paid agitator- in-chief is the doyen of turmoil. Whipping a crowd into a fury to further his own agenda is the job description of a community organizer. Lacking the advantage of Alinsky indoctrination, we conservatives are going to have to coach ourselves. Barbara Boxer (D-Pluto), persevering in her winning strategy of making a consummate # of herself, is accusing town hall protesters of being “Astroturf” because they are too well dressed and groomed to be real protesters; giving conservative women a bona fide justification for hitting Nordie’s this weekend. Conservatives would do well to stop being so splenetic when the leaders of the thugocracy carp about conservatives being thuggish. It’s like Joe Biden calling you an idiot. Cloward-Piven doesn’t have to be the clandestine stratagem of radical leftists. This administration has a lot to account for. We need to be at those town hall meetings and not tolerate the opposition’s efforts to stifle us. Nary a day should go by without new research into Obama’s his tenebrous past. The press should have done it before the election. But the Fourth Estate is now in outright ruins and left to cope with the repercussions from their own depravity. We don’t need them. The Mainstream Media is being deposed by the alternative media; talk radio, Fox News, and most importantly, the internet. Where are the Freedom of Information Act filings requesting Obama’s records? Items still required include his school records, Illinois State Bar exam application, health records, passport and birth certificate. And if someone happens to have a copy of Stanley Ann Dunham’s passport lying around, I would relish the opportunity to review it. Our “representatives” in DC need to hear from us every single day until this lethal health crimes bill is beaten back. We have to multitask, mindful that the Little Ballerina and his menagerie of hooligans know all about Cloward-Piven. They’ve been using it on us since January with all of their sky- is- falling cabalistic caterwauling. Quit empowering the opposition to control our narrative. Last year, we let them goad us into running a candidate who apologized for things that other people said. Stop that. Janet Reno Napolitano is more distraught over patriotism than she is about Islamic terrorism. Have some fun with that. Have an NRA sticker on your car? Add more. Buy a few Palin 2012 bumper stickers. They already think all patriots are a passel of militant zealots anyway; delight in that. And if anyone knows about the insurance companies which are allegedly bankrolling and organizing the protests, please send me an email. We could all use a little extra cash.
