Even with their high-as-kites IQs and politically correct ideology going for them, the Obama's and Oprah could not bring home the Gold for Chicago.
Some political operative must have set a trap for President Obama by telling The Naive One that the 2016 bid was in the bag for Chicago, a done deal, a no-brainer.
That someone also convinced Obama that this was a terrific photo opportunity and a perfect chance to rescue his plummeting approval ratings.
And with unpleasant unemployment numbers due out Friday, the president could bury that nasty news with pictures of he, Michelle, and Oprah joining hands in triumphant celebration of their 'success through sacrifice' program in Copenhagen!
Obama could brush aside 9.8 percent unemployment and another 250,000 lost jobs by saying, "Yes, some Americans are still out of work. But by scoring this American victory today, millions of jobs will be created to support and host the 2016 Olympics!"
Critics concerned about Obama's abdication of his responsibility as Commander-in-chief could be assuaged by photos of the somber president meeting with his top Afghanistan General aboard Air Force One in Copenhagen.
Talk about multi-tasking! Obama can do it all.
And the dunderheads in the liberal media would have gone along with the ruse in order to breathe life back into Obamamania, that disease of the mind that shuts down logic and objective thought, and a must if liberalism is to survive.
Imagine the reaction, then, when Obama received word that Chicago garnered all of eighteen votes and was eliminated.
Outsmarted by Madrid, Tokyo, and Rio for goodness sake!
Not to be overly critical, Mr. President, but Chicago could have gotten more than eighteen votes by sending former Illinois governor Rod Blagoveich to Denmark!
With his "pay for play" skills, Blago would have been perfect for the job. At far less cost and humiliation for America to boot!
Still, Obama is a work in progress and we must be patient.
A tip for our On-the-job-training president: Next time you need to kick rump on a must-win situation for America, send Sarah Palin!
