"Democrats...have demonstrated time and again that they have the management skills of celery. They're the kind of people who'd stop to help you change a flat, but would somehow manage to set your car on fire. I would be reluctant to entrust them with a Cuisinart, let alone the economy." -- Dave Barry

I had the pleasure of hearing Michelle Bachmann (Rep. R-MN) at a luncheon during the How To Take Back America Conference last month in St Louis. I was very impressed by her intelligence, passion, and knowledge. (If you go to the HTTBA web-site, and click on Conference Pictures "more," the first photo is of your intrepid CFP reporter seated next to the Hon. Helen Marie Taylor). According to Michelle's web-site, "after earning her law degree, she went on to the College of William and Mary to get an LL.M [Masters degree] in tax law." She and her husband have five children, and in addition, have opened their home to 23 foster children over the years. The day before Michelle appeared at the luncheon in St. Louis, she had been in Washington D.C., where she had caught a plane to Minnesota, so that she could attend a conservative rally that night. The next day, after speaking at the luncheon that I was at, she headed off to fly to another rally. One imagines that her social secretary must have a hard time keeping up with her agenda. Michelle is a "go-getter," no doubt. Michelle Bachmann currently sits on the Financial Services Committee. This committee is tasked with the oversight of numerous financial sectors including housing, real estate and banking. She has a clear picture of what a mess the American economy is in. This coming Thursday, November 5, Michelle has asked those of us who can, to gather on the steps of the Capitol in Washington D.C., at high noon, for a showdown with Congress. If you don't think that this is important, then you should watch the short video of her from Sean Hannity's show two days ago. November 5 is the day that the House is supposed to vote on the ObamaCare bill. It also happens to be the day that the Vets for Freedom are holding a rally at the Capitol -- should be interesting. I urge anyone and everyone who can attend, to do so. There will be people flying in from all over the U.S., and one assumes, driving in from all over as well -- especially from the nearby states of Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and New Jersey. Saddle up the troops and go. Each and every one of you who are privileged to attend in person, will be representing tens of thousands who can't be there physically. But we will be with you there in spirit, and our prayers will be with you. Speaking of being with someone in spirit -- way to go Doug Hoffman! Now that the RNC's choice, Dede Scozzafava, has dropped out of the congressional race in New York, Doug's chances are looking brighter than ever. I know that his supporters are working tirelessly to see him get elected. Our prayers are with them as well. After backing Scozzafava, a RINO (Republican In Name Only), Newt Gingrich gets to show his true colors by either backing Hoffman, or staying silent. Party first, or America first, Newt? Which is it? In the Virginia gubernatorial race, Republican candidate Bob McDonnell seems to have things well in hand. That this conservative victory will occur in Washington's "backyard" makes it all the sweeter. In New Jersey we have a three-way race between incumbent Democratic Governor Jon Corzine, Republican candidate Chris Christie, and Independent candidate Chris Daggett. Unlike in New York's congressional race, the Independent candidate in New Jersey, is anything but a conservative. If you check out Daggett's web-site, right on the home page you'll see that Dagget supports creating "green jobs," and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Uh oh -- red flags, klaxons, and alarums! No need to read any further. Anyone into green jobs and greenhouse gases has bought into the "global cooling," sorry -- make that "global warming," sorry -- make that "climate change" propaganda. (I believe that the Green Fascists have finally hit on something that we can all agree on. Yes, the climate does indeed change.) The whole "global warming/climate change" scam is a cover for the Global Elite's attempt to take over the world through the auspices of the U.N. -- especially through the U.N.'s Agenda 21. Any conservative in their right mind wants nothing to do with anyone who supports Agenda 21. Period. (By the way, if you haven't done so already, you should sign the "Instrument of Repudiation" against the Copenhagen Treaty.) If you are a New Jersey conservative thinking about voting for Daggett, simply because he's an Independent -- please reconsider. The situation in New Jersey is NOT like the situation in New York, where you had a liberal Democrat, a liberal Republican, and a conservative Independent. In New Jersey you have a liberal Democrat, a liberal Independent, and a conservative Republican. Although perhaps not the perfect conservative choice, Chris Christie is by far and away the best choice for conservatives in New Jersey. If the folks in the Garden State don't elect Christie, then the sheeple of New Jersey will continue to get shorn -- and they will deserve it. A very real and vexing problem, however, is that the states who keep on electing free spending liberal candidates need to keep on getting bailed out by other, fiscally responsible states. For example, Washington D.C., via a pipeline of our tax dollars, props up liberal disaster areas like California, and the People's Collective of Massachusetts, whose entitlement economies are dismal failures. People in the fiscally responsible states are getting sick and tired of it, and who can blame them. But that's another article. In the meantime, let's do all we can to support the most conservative candidates in Tuesday's election. And let's back up Michelle this Thursday as best we can -- for our sake, and the sake of future generations. Those of you who make it to D.C. this Thursday, may want to take time to look up at the Washington Monument, and reflect on the fact that on its capstone, facing the sky, are engraved the words Laus Deo -- Praise God. Laus Deo. P.S. I should mention that Dave Barry also said that although a Republican could fix your flat with no problem, they probably wouldn't stop to help, lest they miss Bad Pants Night at the country club.
