Massachusetts Miracle, Election victory for Scott Brown

Scott Brown: A Warning Shot Across the Bow

"By the rude bridge that arched the flood, Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled, Here once the embattled farmers stood, And fired the shot heard round the world." From the "Concord Hymn" by Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)

“It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds.” - Samuel Adams (1722-1803), Massachusetts Founding Father The first deep rumblings -- as if from a distant cannonade -- came last November, with conservative victories in Virginia and New Jersey. Now, Scott Brown's "Massachusetts Miracle" has trumpeted a clear blast that has shaken America awake -- finally, and irrevocably. How fitting that America's Second Revolution, should have its opening salvo come from the state that started the First American Revolution -- home of the Tea Party, Bunker Hill, Paul Revere, Lexington, Concord, and the "Old North Bridge." "We the people" of Massachusetts, have said NO to the vile "health care" bill; NO to insane, irresponsible economic policies, and NO to the anti-American global elite. "We the people" have said YES to the Constitution; YES to individual rights, individual choice, individual freedom, and individual responsibility. We have said YES to the United States of America. G. K. Chesterton once said, "the need here is a need of complete freedom for restoration, as well as revolution.” Restoration and revolution -- America has need for both. "We the people" must restore the sacrosanct status of the Constitution; God's place of honor in our Government and culture, and respect for the sanctity of life. There is much that has been lost; there is much to be restored. There is also a revolution to be tended, stoked, and guided. Thomas Jefferson, author of The Declaration of Independence, was of the opinion that "the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants." America clearly has its tyrants, and now that the patriots have awakened, perhaps it is time to refresh that "tree of liberty." Surely, revolutionary change is in order for Congress this coming November. Beltway "business as usual" must be destroyed once and for all, and "salt strewn over the ruins." Term limits, accountability, honesty, fiscal responsibility, and patriotism, will be the order of the day. "We the people" shall demand it. Unless, that is, you've grown fond of an arrogant, corrupt, supercilious political elite pressing your face in the dirt. The election of a conservative like Scott Brown, in very un-conservative Massachusetts, indicates that America has not lost its morals, mind, or mettle, and that is very welcome news indeed. Scott Brown's election victory is like a warning shot across the bow of the U.S. Ship of State. "Stop -- and prepare to be boarded!" . "We the people" have our work cut out for us, but the enemy is exposed as never before. Due to their cocky hubris after Obama's election, we now have a much better idea of the extent, depth, and location, of the Far Left's infiltration of American culture, media, and government. We have a much clearer picture of what areas need to be targeted, and which areas need to be defended. Perhaps no areas need the light of truth shone on them, as brightly, and urgently, as our economy, and the PC half-truths and lies, surrounding illegal immigration, and Islam. Well, no doubt these things will be addressed, forcefully, in the near future. For now, "we the people" can rejoice in Scott Brown's victory, knowing that -- with God's help -- we have commenced the long-overdue process of restoration and revolution. May God bless America. Laus Deo.
