The Glenn Beck/Debra Medina Sucker Punch

Let's say I had a television show and I asked a political candidate some questions regarding, let's say, about the other entrenched lifer candidates, local issues, state and federal issues, the Constitution, and then asked if he or she believed Babe Ruth was really black or if Barack Obama was really a United States citizen or if there was a 9/11 conspiracy.

Let's say an answer was given I didn't like. Would that alone disqualify me from holding public office?

I will admit, I did like some of the things Beck's said over the last year on Fox News and previous years on radio, but he may have just shown us just how full of himself he really is. Personally, I'd like to see some new blood running Texas. Rick Perry straddled the bonehead fence when he started talking about secession, Kay Bailey Hutchinson appears to feel she's entitled to the governorship after many flaky years in the US Senate. And while we're at it, let's talk conspiracy. Sarah Palin is now a Beck compadre at Fox News. Sarah Palin endorsed Rick Perry. Debra Medina was surging in the polls. Beck throws a beanball at Medina in an attempt to knock her out of the race. How ironic it would be that liberals could use a Glenn Beck audio clip to take out a Republican. I've already made my views (then doubts) about Beck known when I saw him pandering to black Republicans on a weekend show, complete with jungle-looking graphics, trying to come off as a potential savior who understands. I've never bought his crying like a #, and I've rejected every attempt he's made to make himself a 9/12, tea party grand poohbah. Glenn Beck could make me look bad tomorrow if he asked a question about Barack Obama's birth certificate. Bill O'Reilly would dismiss me and call me a "loon" if I brought up anything that reflected reasonable doubt regarding his birthplace. But is it anyone's fault if that have an opinion that has nothing to do with a person's ability to lead? Van Jones wasn't asked to leave the Obama Administration because he was a Truther. He was asked to leave because he was a pompous # bomb thrower and a racist. I'll bet I could find a Truther or two within the Administration. Calling Republicans "assholes" and saying that white people are deliberately polluting the black community without proof can get you canned. Out of all the Republicans on Capitol Hill, I'm sure we can find a Birther or two. Should we allow Glenn Beck to think he can start an impeachment movement to purge the Party of people thinking in ways that have absolutely nothing to do with the oath they took to uphold and defend the Constitution? Beck and O'Reilly are holier-than-thou gutless entertainers. It's easy to claim independence by being an Independent. It's easy to point your superior finger at everyone else and tell them what they're all doing wrong from a self-propped up position of channeling. Forgive me Glenn, but I've chosen a side and am doing everything I can as a citizen to make the Republican Party the best it can be in reflecting the position of the conservatives that put them in the power they presently have and may enjoy in the future. I won't sit on the roof and piss on everyone below just because I can and they can't return the favor. Debra Medina issued a statement saying she wasn't a "truther". If you wish to call her a liar, show some proof. If you can't aside from a botched question she wasn't expecting (and anyone who's run for office has gotten at least one), you need to step back. To listen to that pompous # laugh and ridicule a Republican candidate who understands the Constitution (and do we need people like that today) is sickening and I'll find better ways to spend my early evenings from 5-6pm EST from now on. Cry about THAT, Glenn.
