Passing a bloated, mistake-filled, freedom robbing, elderly-abusing, unconscionably expensive, ultra-high tax resulting piece of absolute trash

March Madness or Healthcare Madness – Both Headaches

On Monday morning, March 22, 2010, I had a hangover. I did; a hangover of major proportions as a result of watching the most embarrassing display of anti-Americanism to soil our TV screens in the history of that medium.

I watched as 219 anti-Americans, savoring only their own greed and false joy at passing a bloated, mistake-filled, freedom robbing, elderly-abusing, unconscionably expensive, ultra-high tax resulting piece of absolute trash that does NOTHING to remedy the perceived shortcomings of the most efficient medical system in the entire world. When you consider that one of the most often quoted reasons claimed as needed was reform of the insurance companies’ practices and policies, then as the old 1960s Broadway musical said, “A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum.” And most likely a very embarrassing moment for the sponsors of this legislative travesty, the insurance companies suddenly were big supporters of its contents. It doesn’t take much gray matter to recognize when the fix is in; and with all the back room, dark of night wheeling and dealing with little to no opposition party members present at the direction of the major players: Obama, Pelosi and Reid, voila’ a new kind of “reform” was created. Not only that, but speed was of the essence for fear that too many people other than the small, elite, “need-to-know” group might learn of the many warts and pimples this vain-glorious piece of trash had nestled under the wrinkles of deceit.

Payola, Illegal bribes

So the money-maker wheels began rolling to smooth the road to approval after all the discordant voices were hushed with payolas and outright, indecent and in all probability, illegal, bribes from the highest levels of the party. When the last of these hurdles was surmounted, the silencing of Mr. Bart Stupak, the holy champion of Catholic ideals who could not be associated with such a scurrilous thing that not only allowed, but encouraged and paid for abortions on demand, the purge was completed. Victory was assured. To put a little icing on the cake, our usurper president made the bribe look at least a tiny bit more respectable by claiming to issue a Presidential Directive diffusing any look of impropriety. HAH! I think it is common knowledge that an Executive Directive can not supersede a written law; so how was that action going to work on this mess? I suppose we shouldn’t have to worry as the usurper dictator will just declare it does. In any case, it got the job done: 219 to 212; just enough to eke out a victory for the bad guys. Today, on this hung-over, inglorious day, I have been hearing ever growing louder chants of “Repeal”; “Impeach”; “Remove” and so on. It will take a while for the initial shock to wear off and people to get down to business to get moving on some, if not all, of these proposed remedies to right our ship of state once more and restore order.

Term Limits

The amusing part of all this chicanery, and theft of rights and freedoms is that they could all have been prevented several years ago had the momentum been directed in a proper course of administrative correctness. I am, of course, referring to the attempts made to install term limits into the federal government without amending legislation to our Constitution. Term limits would never have allowed any of our Congressmen (and women) to gather that much power and corruptness. And term limits would obviate the necessity to cheat to gain votes. It’s too late to do anything about it now; but ho, ho, ho, wait until November of 2010. Santa Claus just might arrive a bit early this year to begin our celebration of freedom from tyranny.
