“You were ready for the Tea Party saboteurs. And boy, did they fail epically. Saul Alinsky would be ashamed. Grass-roots activists smoked out the infiltrators — and tagged them immediately.”Chief addle-pate and poster child for homeschooling, Jason Levin, who attempted to organize a Crash the Tea Party Movement, has been reduced to peddling tee shirts on Cafepress. No doubt he will need the income as the state board in Oregon will be investigating the middle school teacher. Never mind the fact that he was doing “political work” during school hours—they all do that, it’s part of Ayers-based propagandism. What the school board should be concerned about is the fusion of Levin’s near illiteracy combined with his incessant use of foul language in expressing his contempt for the Constitution. The local media is reporting that our Palm Desert Tea Party drew a crowd of “well over 1000.” Use the 1000 figure for extrapolation purposes only. The actual count was probably closer to 2500. Birther lawyer, Orly Taitz was scheduled to speak, but canceled this event as she has others in California. The high point of the evening was the Nancy Pelosi impersonator, complete with oversized gavel (we’re working on getting the video posted for all to enjoy). As was to be expected, the crowd was entirely congenial. My only complaint is that the Tea Party organizers allowed the event to appropriated by politicians running for office. Speechifiers included Ken Miller, a gubernatorial candidate and Clayton Thibodeau who is challenging Representative Mary Rino Mack. I don’t blame the politicians for injecting themselves into the events. An open mic is catnip to these people. But, is it really necessary to allow politicians to turn a grass roots protest into a stump stop? The Tea Party organizers devote incalculable hours and funds to putting the Tea Party rallies together—securing the venue, getting necessary permits, publicizing the event and numerous other expenditures of time and resources. Is the purpose to provide free publicity for political candidates? It seems wrong side out to me. I don’t attend Tea Party events to listen to a bunch of politicians. The politicians should be there to listen to us.
