Oil rig explosion and oil spill

Common sense a rare commodity

The tragic loss of life in the oil rig explosion was bad enough. The oil spill could have been contained with someone (ANYONE) with enough common sense to pour oil out of a boot while reading the directions on the heel.

Boats and booms should have been deployed immediately, not as separate operations, but joined together to get ahead of the slick, adding more boats and booms until the spill is completely surrounded, squeezed in around the source of the leak and then pumped off. The booms are not high enough out of the water in the first place. The base should be at least two feet wide with weights on both sides, and should be at least two feet above the surface. Back up boats should be on standby behind the booms in order to clean up any spillover. Short and to the point..which is always the case when common sense is applied. Complex things are woven for the sole purpose of deception. The goal of intelligence is to make complex things simple.
