Liberals eat one of their own

I’ve never been a great fan of Juan Williams. One, because he comes across as really oily. The other is his willingness to bend himself into tautological pretzels in support of liberal points of view. His steadfast defense of Barack Obama’s motivation if not his policies always left one feeling lied to or violated.

Having said this, I also believe that he was lynched by guilty white liberals running National Public Radio (NPR), who it appears, will go to any length to keep from offending Muslim crazies currently occupying the 800-lb gorilla seat in our midst. Williams’s statement on Fox News’s O’Reilly Factor that he was “worried” and “nervous” while being on an aircraft with individuals dressed in “Muslim garb” caused him to be dismissed from his job at NPR. It’s just another example of how liberals in America are attempting to control the dialogue, such as it is, by running the bus over one of their own and then feeding on his carcass. NPR’s CEO, Vivian Schiller, refused to speculate about why Williams might have made such a statement when asked about his firing, saying that it was something he had to sort out with “his psychiatrist or his publicist.” It’s interesting to note the Stalinist overtones in Schiller’s statement when she implied that Williams might be in need of mental healthcare after making his claim to O’Reilly. The Russian despot often chose to punish those who did not toe the party line by institutionalizing them in insane asylums (when he did not outright have them killed). But then, coming from the New York Times, Vivian Schiller is probably very comfortable with Stalinist techniques, given how that newspaper had been a staunch supporter of Stalin and his policies for decades before Schiller was even born. If I were someone who placed the occasional wager with a bookie I’d take eight to five odds that Schiller very likely feels just as worried and nervous as Williams whenever she boards a plane that’s also carrying individuals wearing Muslim garb. The only difference is, she has likely trained herself not to acknowledge such feelings publicly, whereas Williams has not. If she were not worried and nervous, then maybe that’s something she should take up with her psychiatrist, given the vast number of violent acts committed against innocent people in the name of Islam by Muslims. In fact, lack of fear is considered a kind of brain dysfunction that increases the risk for criminal offending, particularly among the young, according to the American journal of Psychiatry. Poor Juan Williams. I think that somehow he believed all the claptrap about freedom of speech in America, as he shared his views with the likes of Charles Krauthammer, Steve Hayes and Mort Kondrake on Fox News’s Special Report most nights. Truth is, Williams has just found out that free speech is a right we all have so long as we’re all saying the same thing. At least that’s NPR’s official party line.
