Well, I can't say that I was shocked by the amount of idiocy shown in California -- it's to be expected really, but Nevada's re-embracing Harry Reid came as something of a surprise. Apparently they like foreclosures, double digit unemployment, and ObamaCare -- can't get enough of it; want more of it. Who knew?
But enough sour grapes, conservatives won a resounding victory on November 2, in anybody's book. I think that we can say that we've seen the end of the beginning. Now the real work starts.
So what to tackle next? The economy comes first, but close behind comes the Herculean task of cleaning out the Augean Stables of the federal government (and the state governments) -- not to mention the 101 other areas that need damage-control and fixing.
The lame-stream-media popularized the term "culture war" to describe the struggle we are engaged in. The election in 2012 is our next major engagement.
Make no mistake, this is no "culture war," this is nothing less then a war over the fate of civilized society. You may think that's hyperbole, but just watch the radical Democrats in Congress now that their cover of "Blue Dog" Democrats has been stripped from them. We will soon enough be seeing, and hearing, their true anti-American agenda in full technicolor surround-sound. The sophisticated techno-barbarians of the Far Left will all be yelping soon enough.
In my opinion nothing worth celebrating happened on November 2 -- I give John Boehner kudos for saying as much last night. But that's not to say that something momentous didn't occur. Hope has been rekindled in America, and that is a priceless gift.
