Airport Wayfinder Arrives in Toronto - Travel Just Got Easier

By OnTheWeb  Thursday, May 8, 2008

Have you ever planned out your business trip or vacation down to the very last detail - with the best deals on hotels and flights, even great ideas of where to eat and what to do - only to get to the airport and have all the excitement come to a crashing halt when you can’t find your departure gate?

Perhaps you wound up at your “old” airport only to find it to be under major renovations? Or realized you’re in an international airport that you’ve never been to and don’t have a clue as to the customs regulations or currency exchange?

Relax. Now you can immerse yourself in airport and airline overviews before you ever step onto curbside check in. Airport Wayfinder, an innovative, one-of-a-kind, easy to use 3D animated webisode airport program is now available to travelers worldwide. Airport Wayfinder on-line video “webisodes” makes airport navigation fun and fruitful.

And just in time, too, as it appears that consumers really like using online videos. SES NY 2008 (the conference for Search Engine Strategies held March 17-20 in New York City) stated that in February 2008 alone 116 million of internet users watched an average of 124 minutes of online videos! They viewed more than 5.9 billion video streams; and 72% watched news video online at least once a week. Why not apply that to travel services?

Nancy Grimes, executive producer of Airport Wayfinder and founder of Air Travel Video Technologies, LLC (ATV), certainly was ahead of her time when she created the immersive Airport Wayfinder program in 1993. Today, ATV is the world’s leading producer of international airport arrival information. Since it’s inception ATV has produced, distributed and supported in-flight viewing programs of more than 60 of the world’s leading international airports for its customers. It should come as no surprise to you then as to why she was ahead of her time: before founding ATV, Grimes worked as an airline and airport employee for more than 17 years. She knew first-hand just what people needed, and certainly knew the ins and outs of airport navigation.

As many of you are well aware, in the Greater Toronto area Pearson International Airport (YYZ) has already undergone huge transformations and it continues to embark on a hefty Airport Master Plan for 2008-2030. We are pleased to announce that later this month, GTAA (Greater Toronto Airports Authority) will offer the Airport Wayfinder service to travelers visiting its site http://www.gtaa.com. To see Phase One of the new service now, please visit: http://www.airportwayfinder.com and click on “Toronto.” We want you to be the first to know.

We invite you to experience a new way of travel service. For more information on ATV, please visit: http://www.airportwayfinder.com/about.html . Nancy Grimes is available to talk with you directly and I will be following up with you to help make that happen. I can also help provide any images needed, as well as further interview options, if desired.

Airport Wayfinder arrives in Toronto – On Line, On Board, On Target! Please help us spread the word and to make everyone’s travel concerns a little easier.
