American liberals are getting increasingly frustrated with the use of the term “democratic socialism.” But I’m getting increasingly fed up with the improper use of the term “liberal.” John McCain is a liberal. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, like all modern Democrats, are something quite different.
For the record, the term “liberal” originally referred to people like Thomas Jefferson, indicating their undying reverence for “individual liberty” and “personal freedom” above all other notions and their opposition to government power.
People who believe in empowering government to strip liberty and freedom from individuals in the name of some greater common good are not “liberals,” they are in fact “socialists.” And if they use democratic processes, the “will of the people,” to achieve a state of socialism, they are “Democratic Socialists.”
Those who still deny or seek to conceal the reality of Democratic Socialism in America must study the Democratic Socialists of America organization, its policy initiatives and member rolls, and how many members they already have seated in powerful congressional offices via the Democrat Party.
Now that I’ve covered that reality, I want to address the subject of who is behind this movement, who is spending BIG money in American politics to purchase Democratic Socialism in America, who is the anti-American Fifth Column operating within.
The Best Funded Movement in America Today
According to the leftist press, fat cat corporate, capitalist Republicans control Washington DC through demonic “lobbyists” who spend millions buying Republicans so that greedy profit driven corporations can keep their boot on the neck of the average American. Sounds like something Karl Marx or Vladimir Lenin might sell, doesn’t it? But the hard facts, which are largely invisible in the mainstream media, say something quite different, just in case you are impressed by facts.
Most Americans still believe in the founding principles of freedom and liberty, or so I choose to believe, and they can’t figure out how their nation is being hijacked from them by a minority who openly desire socialism.
The answer is simple – when good men do nothing, evil prevails.
Evil is always on the move. Today, evil is taking control of America via Democratic Socialism and too few Americans are taking a stand against it.
For more than seventy years now, Americans get up every morning with fewer personal freedoms and liberties than they had the day before. Freedoms and liberties, stripped from individuals by both legislative and judicial process, all of which is quite “democratic” of course.
To illustrate just how uneven this fight is in America today, consider these numbers.
Between 1989 and 2008, more than $635 million dollars were invested by the top 25 U.S. political institutional investors to buy political favor in Washington D.C. Over $459 million, or 72% of that money was spent buying Democrats, not Republicans, who received a little more than $175 million or 28% of those funds during the same period. Just the top 25 donor organizations are represented in these numbers.
Countless organizations invest in American political power, as do many international organizations, for billions of dollars. Here’s a list of the TOP 25 institutional political investors from 1989-2008, how much they have invested and who they purchased with those dollars.
Top Democrat Donor Organizations 1989-2008 | Total | Dem % | Rep % | tilt |
American Fedn of State, County & Municipal Employees | $39,165,934 | 98 | 1 | D |

As you can see, 15 of the Top 25 give almost exclusively to the Democratic Socialist movement. The following 9 have given 61% to Republicans and 39% to Democrats.
Top Democrat Donor Organizations 1989-2008 | Total | Dem % | Rep % | tilt |

Citigroup is ranked number 13 of the 25 and they give evenly to both parties.
When we look at the Top 25 combined, we find that they have invested 72% or more than $459 million in Democratic Socialism while opposition Republicans received only 28% or $175 million during the same period. He with the gold makes the rules!
Of course, these numbers do not reflect 527 or PAC contributions which are equally tilted in favor of Democratic Socialism. There is no getting around the fact that more than 70% of all institutional campaign funding is going to Democratic Socialists who keep America’s march into socialism on track.
Campaign finance laws place limits on how much any average American can invest in the future of their nation. But no such limits exist for labor unions, corporations, international socialists or PAC’s.
In case you are wondering, the Top 20 PAC’s also tilt 70.5% for Democratic Socialism and 29.5% for Republicans in the 2008 election cycle. 527 organizations tilt even more to the left.

The “Will of the People”
The “will of the people” is a double edged sword that cuts both ways. As Thomas Jefferson warned, “A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.” This is exactly what is happening today.
Pure democracy is as dangerous as pure dictatorship in that both allow a few to rule over the many in the name of some abstract greater common good. The only true test of freedom is individual liberty. When individual liberty is taken by force, under the guise of some greater common good, freedom is essentially dead.
The fact that it is by democratic process is no consolation. No matter the process, freedom is still extinguished. Is this the true will of the American majority today? I hope not…
The People’s Voice
There is NO limit to how much money institutional political investors can spend to buy their political goals by democratic process. But even these powerbrokers have only one vote for one man, though they do use hook and crook to influence the votes of others, especially in the labor movement.
“The people” have TWO voices. Like institutional investors, their money is one voice. Their individual vote is their other voice, and believe it or not, the more powerful of the two. As demonstrated here, institutional money favors Democrats who will keep America progressing towards total Socialism by democratic process.
Both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are indeed Democratic Socialists and you only have to be able to comprehend their campaign promises and past policy positions to know this. Democratic Socialism is the progress they have in mind, because all socialist dictators must have a government dependent electorate in order to retain political power. This explains why all the money behind Democratic Socialism is invested in today’s democrat candidates.
The people are not keeping up, out-spent 3 to 1 by investors pursuing socialism, at odds with the American majority. This leaves the people with only one voice; one means of defeating Democratic Socialism and that voice is powerful enough to do the job, if the people use it in the voting booth.
No matter how much money is spent to force America in the wrong direction, the American voter has the power to block those efforts with their vote. So long as a majority of active voters use that voice for this purpose, no amount of money from the left will be enough to over-rule the real will of the people. But when good men do nothing, evil will certainly prevail.
The Battle Lines - the Issues
Americans fight to protect the “unalienable” civil rights of the innocent child and refuse to make murder a mother’s civil right. But Democratic Socialists are only concerned that mothers have the civil right to murder their young. Why?
Americans fight to protect the 2nd Amendment rights of every innocent American citizen. But Democratic Socialists seek to protect only the civil rights of the criminals by taking guns away from law abiding citizens and charging manufacturers for the crimes committed by others. Why?
Americans fight for their right to define and pursue individual happiness through the economic freedom to retain a maximum amount of their hard-earned property. But Democratic Socialists seek to strip productive members of society of their rightful earnings in order to fund the many needs of the non-productive members of society, which happens to be the voting bloc that keeps Democratic Socialists in power.
The examples are endless and every issue is in play. The battle lines are visible in the issues. We know every socialist by which side he or she stands on.
The issues are tools used to divide the American electorate into two groups, those who love, protect and seek to preserve our founding principles of freedom and individual liberty, - and those who seek to replace your individual freedom and liberty by force with their definition of a greater common good.
Every election is about the struggle between these two opposing ideals.
In the 2008 Presidential election, John McCain is conservative on about 65% of the issues and somewhat liberal on the other 35%. The 2008 race is void of any true conservative candidate.
But both Obama and Clinton are pure 1000% Democratic Socialists. The institutional investors in Democratic Socialism spend three times more to pursue that agenda than opposition forces spend to protect individual freedom and liberty.
If the people don’t use their voice to stop it in the election booth, it can’t be stopped.
If you need more reason than this to show up at the voting booth this fall, you will be written into history as the generation that stood silent and did nothing in the face of progressive federal tyranny.
Where are all those rich Republican capitalists when we need them? How are we being out-funded by socialists?
All politicians are for sale - all can and will be bought - and all political agendas cost money.
Democratic Socialism is being purchased for America at a rate of more than 3 to 1 over individual freedom and liberty. 50% of registered voters have not voted in years and divided American conservatives are no match for a united Democratic Socialist front.
I still believe that most Americans oppose Socialism, even in Democratic form. But if they don’t start using both voices to defeat it now, they will soon have no power to stop it.
November 2008 may mark the point of no return. If Democrat Socialists control all three branches of the federal government, I have no doubts about that… Do you?
