Should Mubarak Stay or Go? Conflicting Views from Obama and His Envoy!

The crisis in Egypt has revealed an inconvenient truth about President Obama and his administration: The utter incompetence of this administration as pertains to domestic matters is just as prevelant and dangerous when it comes to foreign policy and issues.
Consider the hugely embarrassing disconnect between what President Obama and others in the White House are saying about President Hosni Mubarak as contrasted with what envoy Frank Wisner, back in town after a week in Egypt, is saying. From Haaretz.com, in part:
"The future of Egypt will be determined by its people. The transition process must begin now," President Obama said after meeting at the White House with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Friday. “Earlier on Friday, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said that Egypt will face greater instability if President Hosni Mubarak does not quickly take concrete steps for reforms and a transition of power. "Unless or until that happens instability is actually going to increase," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said, urging Mubarak and Vice President Omar Suleiman to defuse the tension.”
Not much room for misinterpretation there. Obama wants Mubarak to go NOW, right? Perhaps. However, that is direct conflict with the words of Frank Wisner whom Obama dispatched to Egypt on an urgent mission just last Monday. As reported by Yahoo:
“Frank Wisner who was dispatched to Cairo on Monday, said he is increasingly hopeful that Egypt can manage a peaceful and orderly transition to democracy. "You need to get a national consensus around the preconditions of the next step forward, and the president must stay in office in order to steer those changes through," Wisner said. "I therefore believe that President Mubarak's continued leadership is critical — it's his opportunity to write his own legacy."
So, which is it President Obama? Must Mubarak leave NOW, or must he “stay in office in order to steer those changes through,” as stated by YOUR envoy? America, Egypt, Israel and the world entire is anxiously looking for a consistent answer regarding America’s policy on this crisis. Or, is that expecting too much, Mr. President?
