Repeal 17 Campaign

Nullification bills introduced

First, thanks to the neworganizations that have recently signed up in support of the Repeal 17 Campaign. The more flags and stars we can get on this map, the more influence we will have with legislators.

While 12 states have now introduced bills to nullify Obamacare, Montana is leading the way toward a broader nullification approach. Montana HOUSE BILL NO. 382 sponsored by Rep. D. Skees is titled - "AN ACT PROHIBITING INFRINGEMENT OF THE STATE OF MONTANA'S CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO NULLIFICATION OF ANY FEDERAL STATUTE, MANDATE, OR EXECUTIVE ORDER CONSIDERED UNCONSTITUTIONAL BY THE STATE; ENACTING THE MONTANA NULLIFICATION REAFFIRMATION ACT; AND PROVIDING A RETROACTIVE APPLICABILITY DATE." These nullification efforts seek to achieve the same result we seek by repealing the 17th Amendment. That is, to give the states a seat at the federal government's table as was the original design set forth in the Constitution. It is clear that had the U.S. Senate been populated with Senators chosen by state legislatures last year, Obamacare would never have become law. It is also clear that when Senators once again are chosen by state legislatures, the federal government will no longer be able to expand its power, reach and budget, at will. Another exceedingly important land-grab is underway in Montana, encouraged by both existing Senators, to expand U.N. Biosphere Reserves in order to lock up land that contains important energy reserves. Were Senators chosen by the state legislatures, this land lock-up would not be an issue Please encourage your friends and organizations to sign up for the mail list and/or for the Participating Organizations page. Get your supply of the new DVD and invite your friends over for a viewing. This DVD explains why our Founders gave the Senate to the states, and why it is essential that states have a seat at the federal governing table. It also describes how our campaign will move forward to achieve this important goal. Thanks for your support.
