She’s Baack! Helen Thomas to Address Pro-Palestinan Conference

Helen Thomas, the veteran journalist who lost her job and her plum seat in the White House press briefing room over her anti-Israel remarks, has re-emerged.

According to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, Thomas will be one of the featured speakers at a pro-Palestinian meeting aimed at countering the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s (AIPAC) conference in Washington next month.
Helen Thomas, Stephen Walt and John Mearsheimer are scheduled to speak at a pro-Palestinian conference aiming to counter AIPAC’s annual gathering. A coalition of about 100 leftist and pro-Palestinian groups, led by Code Pink and the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, will run “Move Over AIPAC” in Washington from May 21 to 24, coinciding with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s annual conference. The thrust of the “Move Over AIPAC” event will be “to learn about the extraordinary influence AIPAC has on U.S. policy and how to strengthen an alternative that respects the rights of all people in the region,” according to its statement. The conference will include protests outside the Washington Convention Center, the site of the AIPAC forum.
Thomas, who earned the enmity of many fellow liberal journalists with her previous remarks, is unlikely to find much support in the media for her association with the anti-AIPAC event. Not that she cares, but it seems that she is hell bent on speaking her mind even if no one is listening anymore.
