Visit to the Western Wall, Note left in the Kotel, pre-approved

Obama Campaign Used Israel Holy Place

It looked like a campaign stop, complete with signs and banners. We were assured it wasn't. There was nothing but reverence and respect for the Western Wall until a local ruined it all.

But it would appear the Obama campaign planned it all along.
Maariv, the second most popular newspaper in Israel, was roundly criticized for publishing the note Obama left in the Kotel. But now a Maariv spokesperson says that publication of the note was pre-approved for international publication by the Obama campaign, leading to the conclusion that the "private" prayer was intentionally leaked for public consumption.
When it comes to people who believe it's all about them, nothing is coincidence… Are we really surprised? Okay, you Obama supporters are, but you'll get over it. You always do.
A Ma'ariv spokesman was quoted in the Jerusalem Post as saying that "Barack Obama's note was approved for publication in the international media even before he put in the Kotel, a short time after he wrote it at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem." If the Maariv statement about pre-approval of publication of the note is true, it would mean that the Obama campaign had managed the event brilliantly, if deceptively, getting the double benefit of appearing to be victimized by the invasive Israeli press and prayer-thieving Jew while at the same time leaking out his humble Christian plea to the Lord.
I couldn't have said it better myself. I kind of get the impression some in Israel are pissed, but they shouldn't feel singled out. After all, who hasn't the Obama campaign used lately? Remember, Barack Obama belongs to an ideology that routinely mocks religion and those who believe in something greater than themselves. Whether or not it would be considered an insult was the last thing they thought about.
