On “Being Breitbart”

image"I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I love fighting back, I love finding allies, and -- famously --I enjoy making enemies." Andrew Breitbart (1969-2012) Shortly after Andrew Breitbart's untimely death a T-shirt came out featuring the image of Andrew's face, and the words "Breitbart Is Here." What is that statement supposed to mean exactly? (Sidebar: The T shirt was designed by "Big Fur Hat" of the website "I Own the World." The shirt is available through "Anthem," who says that "all profits will go to benefit the family of Andrew Breitbart").
To me, above all else, it means that the person wearing the T-shirt is possessed of Breitbart's attitude. "Being Breitbart" is about attitude. "Being Breitbart" involves taking pleasure in being despised by the despicable; ridiculed by the ridiculous, and shunned by the morally and spiritually stunted denizens of the narcissistic, relativistic, hedonistic, nihilistic realm of the liberal un-dead. "Being Breitbart" means giving as good as you get -- and then some. Very few people are blessed with Andrew Breitbart's combination of charisma, brains, chutzpah, humor, and joie de vivre -- but many of us are capable of acquiring, and cultivating, Breitbart's attitude of righteous indignation at the lies, hypocrisy, arrogance and idiocy of the left-wing's parade of vile dreck.

"Being Breitbart" means attacking the Progressive frauds, fascists and communists with commitment, integrity and passion. It means dismantling their puerile and Byzantine "intellectual" constructs with vigor and élan -- calling them out on their bigotry, greed, self-centeredness and mendacity. What does it look like when "Breitbart Is Here?" It looks a lot like Michelle Malkin telling Juan Williams, (in so many words), to shut up and shove it when he tried to ridicule, downplay, and dismiss the importance of the recently released video tapes of Obama telling a crowd of people to "open your hearts and open your minds" to the poisonous bigotry of the late Harvard professor Derrick Bell. Malkin told Williams, "Stop it! This is news! They didn't want to talk about it then [2008], and they don't want to talk about it now. Do you think it's a coincidence of timing that Barack Obama has now hired people to put out some 17-minute documentary? This is all about Alinskyite control of who tells the story. Well guess what, Barack Obama and Jim Messina? It is not all your monopoly anymore, and that's why they are pushing back so hard. It is not 'nothing!' It is very crucial!" (Sidebar: God knows I have taken Fox News to task often enough, but I like to give credit where it is due. Fox News, and in particular, Sean Hannity, deserve kudos for showing, and defending, these videos). "Breitbart Is Here" looks a lot like Joel Pollak calling out Soledad O'Brien and her co-host on their boringly transparent racist gambits. Pollak replied to their race-baiting comments by saying "I'm glad that you played the racism card. You've accused me of being afraid of black people, and it doesn't even deserve a response, but let me respond anyway." He then went on to underline just how ignorant of the facts O'Brian and her cohort were. It was the flagrant liberal racism and bigotry displayed during the Clarence Thomas hearings that first turned Andrew Breitbart's stomach, and then his allegiances. He had been a liberal up to that point. When "Breitbart Is Here," the wise liberal (does such a creature even exist?) leaves their race card up their sleeve. When "Breitbart Is Here" it looks like Father John Hollowell telling the Obama Regime and Kathleen Sebelius: "You better knock us out right now, because I promise you -- here comes the Catholic Church. '...The board is set, the pieces are moving. At last we come to it...the great battle of our age'." (After J.R.R. Tolkien). "Being Breitbart" involves knowing your enemy -- and that requires being aware of the narcissistic mind-set behind the liberal ignorantia invinciblis (invincible ignorance). Their narcissism is usually coupled with low self-esteem, which makes for a nasty combination, and goes a long way toward explaining liberal defensiveness, anger, duplicity and projection. (It is important to note that arrogance is not a sign of high self-esteem -- quite the contrary -- and that low self-esteem should not be confused with a healthy humility). The late Fred Hutchison in his article "Narcissism and the Culture War" wrote: "Narcissism is observable in every part of the Postmodern Coalition. The moral relativists who occupy a central place in the coalition are inventing their own individual moral world. A narcissistic relativist...worships self, the creator-god of his own little personal cosmos. He resents any suggestion that a higher God might make claims on him or set boundaries for his actions." You cannot profitably argue with people so deeply immersed in their mental/spiritual pathology -- it is generally a waste of time. Your best bet is to simply "out" them -- flush them out into the open from behind their barricade of lies and obfuscation. Shine the light of truth on them and watch as they scurry like cockroaches when a light switch is flipped on late at night. When "Breitbart is Here" the light of truth shines brightly, and lies, half-truths and dissembling are shredded and vaporized back into their native nothingness. Perhaps most of all, "Being Breitbart" means being for freedom, for the individual, and for the truth. May we all carry a bit of "Breitbart" with us -- a coal that we can breathe upon and cause to flare into flames when needed.
