Arizona Special Election, Tuesday June 12, Vet Needs Your Help

Friends, In our email to supporters on Thursday and in all our emails we have used the above image of Jesse Kelly in his role as a Marine. Many reports, from NPR to the Washington Post and now U.S. News have taken issue with the use of a gun in a campaign that is being waged in the district that experienced the tragic shooting of Gabby GIffords last year. These media outlets are attempting to discredit our organization and the Kelly campaign by bringing up this topic.

Jesse Kelly was a Marine. He fought bravely for his country, for the freedoms we all hold dear, including the freedom of the press. We have been at war for over a decade. Men and women such as Jesse Kelly are the individuals that fight this war, use weapons to protect themselves and their comrades. We salute and support these individuals and when they run for office we know the lessons learned on the battlefield translate to the leadership needed in Washington. We will not shy away from the reality of war and the enemies we are fighting. We will not hide the fact that our Commander in Chief sends our soldiers into battle every day with weapons to beat our enemy. We will fight back when the liberal media attacks us for showing the reality of this fight. Kelly needs YOUR HELP before this special election that will resonate nationally.

Gun in Campaign Ad for Gabby Giffords’s Seat Is Unconscionable

...What can explain the judgment of the Move America Forward Freedom PAC, which sent out an E-mail depicting the district's GOP contender holding an assault rifle? According to NPR, which broke the story, the PAC said, in backing Republican Jesse Kelly: "While we applaud the former Congresswoman's recovery, this race is not about Gabby Giffords. We want to give the people of Arizona a new voice that reflects their values." What values are those—that guns are the way to resolve conflicts and win elections? That if the Democrat, Ron Barber, wins the race, he better watch his back? The E-mail is even more offensive because Barber, who was an aide to the former congresswoman, was injured as well in the January 2011 assault.

The liberal media continues to attempt to portray Jesse Kelly as extreme and inconsiderate of the trauma that engulfed this district. Nothing is further from the truth. At every turn, Jesse Kelly has been respectful of the tragedy. It is his opponent that is attempting to use Giffords to help his election by using a 2-year-old quote by Kelly out of context. It is now more important than ever to stand up to the liberal media trying to bash the military and the jobs they do for ALL OF US. Voters will choose between a conservative Marine Veteran Jesse Kelly, and political staffer Ron Barber, a big-government Democrat. Jesse Kelly is a hero to local military organizations and veterans. He also has the support of Tea Party organizations in Arizona. He supports cutting wasteful Government spending, and bringing the Constitution back to Washington! His main priority - Repeal Obamacare! We're supporting Jesse Kelly because he supports our troops and he served alongside them in Iraq! The election is less than a week away so the time to contribute to help spearhead Kelly's campaign is NOW!
