At the cusp of a modern Dark Age

The New Dark Age

The “Dark Ages” is a common term used for the period between the fall of Rome (2nd/3rd century) and the rise of the Renaissance period (beginning about 1450). Approximately a thousand years of history during which there was little progress in science, technology, food, health, or energy. Is mankind about to repeat history and at the cusp of a modern Dark Age?

History

The Dark Ages ended with inventors, visionaries and scientists like Gutenberg (printing press), Columbus (a western route to the “East”) and Copernicus and Galileo (heliocentric view). Despite the strenuous attempts by the then ruling powers, their accomplishments and findings could not be held back for long. The Catholic Church tried to keep the printing press under wraps as long as possible, the heliocentric view was deemed to be “heretic” and it took nearly 500 years to exonerate Galileo. Columbus hoped to find an easier way to access the # of Asia and was saved by the gold he and his successors retrieved from the New World. Eventually the Renaissance period was born and time could not be turned back. Since then, mankind embarked on a steady path forward, to a large extent based on Gutenberg’s press. It allowed the efficient and wide-spread circulation of news and ideas. Over the last few decades, radio, television, email and the internet have supplemented the printing press and increased the speed of communication worldwide. With that came new threats to free communication. From attempts at taxation of the new media to their control by the authorities so far they have failed, but no doubt new attempts will be made in time. Some countries already filter emails and internet access, and scrutinize every word sent or received.

Take Control

One simple step to influence public is to take control of the media empires themselves. It enables the current powers to control what is reported and to provide the “correct” slant and interpretation, all in one efficient step. The media empires have grown in recent years and are no longer independent or unbiased; a new dogma took hold.

The New Dogma

The new dogma is carbon dioxide (CO2), global warming (and its pseudonym “Climate Change”). Some of the prophets of that new dogma, such as members of the “350.org” actually think these “heretics” should be burned at the stake or suffer a similar fate. People like David Suzuki and Richard Parncutt (who has since apologized for and retracted his statements) are on record as stating so. Manmade CO2 is claimed by some new “Dark Age(rs)” to cause climate change. It is the new Devil which needs to be eradicated. Mankind, we’re told, needs to revert to its proper tasks to revive “nature” and “save” planet Earth. Unfortunately, in that process, all western civilizations must (and will) go to hell, Christianity will disappear; Islam and the UN Agenda21 will regale the New Age with their benevolence and accomplishments. The latter include loss of national sovereignty, individual property rights, most constitutional rights, and nearly everything else you may take for granted. Welcome to the New Dark Age!
