Democrat standard bearer admits his disdain for the Bill of Rights

Bill Maher: the Constitution ‘is bullsh*t’ ...the gloves are off

Bill Maher is crass, arrogant, and frighteningly prone to misogyny. His long history of ignorance regarding the history of our nation, and the Constitution upon which it was founded, has been well-documented. Nothing has changed.
Normally, he comes off as such a clown that there's really no reason to pay any attention to his ranting. Yes, he's a standard-bearer for the Democrats, and yes, he's pretty much the embodiment of their most arrogant instincts, but he's easily dismissed because he's just such a deplorable human being. However, there's an interesting movement taking place among the far-left brain trust. Emboldened by Obama's reelection, they're actually starting to admit beliefs that, previously, they would only whisper to each other behind closed doors. Maher is at the vanguard of that shift, so it's worth a look as the mask comes off. What Maher says today, the mainstream of the Democrat party will be saying in the future.

Case in point, his views on the Constitution:
"I mean, a lot of it is bullshit," He said this weekend. "I mean, the Second Amendment is bullshit. The way they interpret the Second Amendment - the left completely forgot how to interpret that. I mean, it really is about militias at a time when, you know, there was a battle between the states and the government. It wasn't really about private citizens owning a handgun."
We won't even get into how wrong he is. Everyone knows that the Supreme Court has ruled that the 2nd Amendment is an individual right. Just as it's not about "hunting," it's not about "militias." What's interesting here is that one of the left's most visible figures has finally, openly, revealed what they all believe - the U.S. Constitution is little more than a piece of annoying scrap paper. ....and his audience absolutely loves hearing it. There should be no doubt that Maher's opinion is secretly shared by Democrat Senators, Representatives, and the President they support. The fact that prominent left-wing voices are now willing to admit their anti-Constitutional views should serve as yet another wakeup call. The gloves are truly off.
