Obama just loves sporting firearms. …didn’t you know that?

Shocker: Some people doubt that Obama loves skeet shooting

Over the last few days, you may have heard that President Obama is a bit of a gun enthusiast. In fact, he claims that "Up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time."
He also revealed that while his daughters don't "do" skeet shooting, "oftentimes guests go up there, and I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations." The comments landed with a thud, possibly because no one has ever heard mention of this before, and no pictures of it seem to exist. One would assume that, if Barack Obama has ever picked up a shotgun, there would be some evidence of it. After all, folks do tend to pay pretty close attention to what he's doing. Now, people are starting to ask questions.

Among the skeptics is, apparently, CNN's Erin Burnett who admitted there are doubters on both sides of the political spectrum. "Obama the skeet shooter," she said. "Yeah, I’m not making this up. I mean, if someone is, it isn’t me.” She then played a clip of Jay Carney dodging the question of whether or not any Obama-with-guns photos exist, before interviewing Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee. Blackburn doesn't seem to be buying it either. "If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos? Why hasn't he referenced this at any point in time?" Blackburn asked. "As we've had this gun debate that is ongoing, you would have thought it would be a point of reference." She later challenged the President to a shooting competition, saying "I tell you what I do think. I think he should invite me to Camp David, and I'll go skeet shooting with him and I bet I'll beat him." If I were Rep. Blackburn, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the invitation.
