This July 4th should be the occasion when President Barack Hussein Obama is told to stand down from his blatant hypocrisy regarding the U.S. military.
A hypocrite forcing through his Fundamental Transformation of America will keep right or trucking but for the sake of 400,000 graves of the fallen heroes at Arlington and countless others worldwide, any and all public addresses on that day by the anti-troops Obama should be shunned by the millions who see the military as the heroes they are. Ditto for shallow Michelle Obama, who, as First Lady, flagrantly uses Military in full dress as human props. Obama has proven he lacks the moral courage to confront the troops head on, preferring instead to play the ‘Artful Dodger’ role he has clung to for the past four and a half years.

The Obamas’ claims for troop-loving should be given the same credibility as the troop-loving (It’s the war not the troops we hate) Code Pink. Obama, who arrogantly announced he would replace the troops with his own after his first election, has been consistently working to hollow out the military ever since. Last year as he kicked off the White House Fourth of July celebration, the forked-tongue Obama paid public tribute to America’s men and women in uniform, telling service members gathered on the South Lawn that they “represent what is best in America.” (ABC, July 4, 2012). “You serve under our proud flag. You and your families sacrifice more than most of us can ever know – all in defense of those God-given rights that were first put to paper 236 years ago: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” he said. “So as your commander-in-chief – but also as an American – I want to invite all of you over to say one thing: Thank you.” The president saluted this “generation of heroes” for its service and sacrifice. “I want you all – our men and women in uniform, our veterans and their families -to know this: America will always remember. We will always be there for you, just as you’ve been there for us. That’s my promise. That is America’s promise. And that is one that we pledge to fulfill on this Independence Day,” he said. But after the 2012 Independence Day address, Obama went on to continue with his trademark demonizing and demoralizing of “what is best in America”, allowing the Department of Homeland Security on his watch to identify returning vets as terrorists. In other words identifying the courageous souls fighting terrorists in foreign lands as the real terrorists. Just when many thought it couldn’t get any worse, one month before July 4th, 2013, Obama is depriving Marines at Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan from a key daily meal that went into effect over the weekend. Marines risking their lives and limbs for the folk back at home will now forgo a hot breakfast, and others are being forced to work six-plus hours without being able to refuel on cooked food. Even the once 24-hour available sandwiches for hungry soldiers are no more. Denying troops food is happening at the same time when some 600,000 veterans are stuck in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability claims backlog. The brutal truth about returning wounded warriors: “While the average wait time for first disability claims currently ranges between 316 and 327 days, veterans in certain parts of the country are waiting even longer--681 days in Reno, 642 in New York, 625 in Pittsburgh, 619 in Los Angeles, 612 in Indianapolis, 586 in Houston, and 510 in Philadelphia. In the worst cases, veterans have waited and continue to wait 800 days, 900 days, and even more than 1000 days for a disability claims decision from the VA. (FOX News June 1, 2013) “In the last four years, the number of claims pending for over a year has grown by over 2000%, despite a 40% increase in the VA’s budget. As a reminder, during this same time period, Congress has given VA everything it has asked for in terms of more funding and more employees; however, this has not eliminated the backlog of claims. Solving this problem is critical for veterans of all generations. We need direct and public involvement from you to establish a clear plan to end the backlog for once and for all. “This country must be grateful for the safe homecoming of every single man and woman who has served in harm’s way. Our joy at their return must be reflected in our commitment to helping all who have served.” With his teleprompter Obama massages the troops with empty words, by his actions he takes away their food and makes it impossible for them to get disability. As their Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama does not stand for the troops. Because of that he should stand down on July 4th, 2013.
