Mark Lanham and Jerry Oliver, Walk across America while promoting the US Constitution

Vets on the March for the US Constitution

This past winter I wrote an article which featured a book written by Jerry Oliver called “The Diary.” Soon afterward Jerry decided that he would attempt to walk across America while promoting the US Constitution in an apolitical manner.

Jerry teamed up with fellow vet Mark Lanham, and starting from the West Coast they have slowly made their way east and are currently in Texas. I recently received an email update from Jerry that I felt might be of interest to anyone who supports the US Constitution. So without further ado, here is the text of the email Jerry sent me (if you are reading this on the Internet then I recommend that you check out the links that Oliver has provided): Hello Jim,   We [Jerry Oliver and Mark Lanham] are walking and have been for months, so I wanted to update you on how it is going.  Our website is: WalkDaddyWalk.com and the Press tab shows the various newspaper and TV station interviews. This is my favorite TV piece so far: KFDX FOX3 Texas/Oklahoma Here is another interview [from the Lubbock, Texas area].  We are plugging along at 13-15 miles a day and should arrive in Washington D.C. ETA early December.  We have talked to thousands of people and handed out many copies of the U.S. Constitution.   We are going to make it to D.C.  Mark Lanham is the other person with me.  I am a combat Vietnam veteran, and he is a Gulf War veteran.  He is also a homeless veteran, which is why I chose him over the other candidates.  We trade off walking while the other drives the supply van (medical supplies, water, food and a place to sleep at night).  So far, we have not had one bad incident...nothing!  The American people have provided us with great moral support from San Diego to Texas.   Warm regards, Jerry
