Brotherhood aims to keep the focus on sectarian strife rather than their own failure that got them thrown out of the presidency in the first place

Muslim Brotherhood spreading rumors and lies in Egypt as their last weapon!

Days after the June 30 Revolution, during which millions of Egyptians filled the streets demanding the ouster of the Mohamed Morsi-led Muslim Brotherhood regime and after the Egyptian Army came to the rescue, the Muslim Brotherhood is still organizing demonstrations which often end in violence.
The Brotherhood conveniently forgets that Morsi’s presidency was rejected by a majority of the Egyptian people. It is worthy of note that the Brotherhood is targeting specific groups--particularly the reluctant and fearful or those who haven’t yet decided whose side to be on. One of the most dangerous influential weapons used by the Muslim Brotherhood is spreading rumors and lies, playing with minds of ordinary people and their followers. They are using a very strong media front financed with millions of dollars, and social media “technical militias” to reach their goal. It is well known that the media as a weapon is used by intelligence agencies, whether public or military, to influence the enemies and other countries, as they are used in some professions, such as artists or athletes and as well as in the economic field between competing companies to fabricate a crisis in certain markets or beat competitors, or force a drop in the stock market in order to buy shares. All of these things have nothing to do with religion. Yet, the Muslim Brotherhood claims they are defending Islam and delivering the word of God to the masses.

The long history of the Brotherhood gave them experience and versatility in the process of spreading rumors and lies to distort the picture among opponents and competitors alike. They resort to the "the end justifies the means" playbook, making it permissible to lie to others in order to achieve the interests of the organization. And this is what Mahmoud Abdel-Halim, a founding member of the Brotherhood, who lived with founder Hassan al-Banna stated in the book ‘All Made History’: “The principles of Machiavelli”. Recently, the Brotherhood announced that the army killed 51 Brotherhood protesters and injured more than 1,000 while they were praying. The Brotherhood dominated the media with their cries and tears--but only a few days later, videos and eyewitnesses showed some Brotherhood members shooting it out with the Army, armed with firearms and Molotov cocktails. A few days ago, a march of the Muslim Brotherhood in Mansoura was supposedly hijacked by some thugs who killed three women belonging to the group. But the autopsy and forensic examination proved that the shots came from behind at very close range, and in Egypt weapons are not widely available to citizens. This leaves many questions about who are the real killers and how did they get the weapons. When they entered Brotherhood headquarters, police and military forces found a large number of weapons that have been imported from abroad--especially from Hamas-controlled territories, and Libya. The Muslim Brotherhood has not confined its attacks to just their political opponents but are attacking state institutions, including the military. Gen. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is their latest victim because he stood up for the Egyptian people, removed President Morsi and rejected all and any attempts to “brotherize” the Armed Forces when Morsi was still in power. The worst of wild Brotherhood accusations is the statement from the group’s leaders that the Army was responsible for the assassination of 17 officers and soldiers murdered in cold blood in Sinai last year by Hamas terrorists, who crossed the border, performed the atrocity before fleeing Egypt. These terrorists were killed by Israeli aircraft as they fled. Scaring off women from attending protests is the Muslim Brotherhood at work. Several Muslim Brotherhood pages on Facebook announced that the group's followers would be molesting and raping girls planning on attending demonstrations in support of the Army. Even the clergy are not exempt from rumors. The Brotherhood launched a massive propaganda exercise targeting Al-Azhar and the Grand Mufti, and the leaders of Al-Azhar who tried to block attempts by the Muslim Brotherhood and the Salafis to control Al-Azhar, and to convert it from moderate Islam to a source of the Wahhabi Clerics spreading terrorism, extremism, sectarianism and the legalization of murder and bloodshed. It is well known that Muslim Brotherhood deputy leader Khayrat el-Shater who’s currently facing charges of incitement to violence, the slaughter of protesters and financial corruption, is the man behind the financing and supervising of the committees of electronic and media militias, who play the major role in the spread of these rumors. Recently the Brotherhood opened fake accounts on social networking sites under the names and pictures of some opposition leaders, especially Coptic Christians and used these accounts to spread a provocative message about the “destruction of Islam” and the erasing of the Koran, to deliberately change the identity of Islamic Egypt. The Brotherhood aims to keep the focus on sectarian strife rather than on their own failure that got them thrown out of the presidency in the first place.
