Popular Presidents don’t have to beg for Birthday wishes, Obama
President Barack Obama’s 52nd birthday today is symbolic of the way he runs his destructive administration: propaganda, astroturfing and mega hype.
In the space of the last few days, as many as five emails, subject line ‘Friend’ were sent out to all by Organizing for Action (OFA) asking folk to sign his birthday card--and tapping them for $5. A popular president would not have to ask five times for signatures on his birthday card and beg for money. The first plea came from astro-turfer David Axelrod telling folk every time his phone rang “to the tune of Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed Delivered (I’m Yours),” he knew who was calling. ...And one thing I admire about the President is that he’s never taken for granted the people who are fighting alongside him.

“You make change possible. “That’s why I know President Obama would love to hear from you on his birthday this Sunday.” “It only takes a few seconds to sign the card -- go for it”, advised Jon Carson, OFA executive director. Taking time out from his new job of advising Britain Prime Minister David Cameron’s election campaign, OFA chair Jim Messina sent an email asking people to sign the OFA birthday card for the president today. Obama for America chief Julianna Smoot was even more direct about signing the birthday card: “Make sure your name is on it.” “After you sign the card, you can leave a note too. “President Obama always takes time to read what people send--and I know he loves hearing from grassroots supporters like you.” Julianna has been out of touch. Obama doesn’t have to read what people send. NSA is doing it for him. There was no spontaneous groundswell of Happy Birthday wishers for Obama just as there are no cheering throngs to applaud him when he makes another recycled speech. Obama’s crowds are the high school, college and university students that make up his trademark captive audiences and flunkies from ‘Rent-A-Dem’. Obama minions are trying to sell folk that Obama is sentimental about his birthday. Obama, who works to destroy the USA with the ongoing Fundamental Transformation of America, owns no sentimental feelings about America. He started his birthday off yesterday with a round of golf and is at Camp David today. Almost two dozen American embassies around the world shut their doors today from fear of terrorist attacks by al Qaeda--the same evil force Obama boasted he had put on the run. That’s sentiment, Barack Obama style.

And whenever President Obama called me, sometimes late at night, he was calling to work -- we'd spend hours talking through the issues, and the reasons that drove him to run for president. Looking back, so many of those issues are the same ones we're still fighting for today. And one thing I admire about the President is that he's never taken for granted the people who are fighting alongside him. You make change possible. But now it's time to have a little fun. The President's 52nd birthday is on Sunday -- let's help him celebrate. Take a few seconds and sign OFA's birthday card for President Obama. I've been on the President's side through some tough fights, and one of the things I respect most about him is that he never makes any decision because it's easy, or because it's what would be best for him politically. He does what he thinks is right for the country -- no matter what. In every decision, he's thinking about the people he went to Washington to fight for. This birthday card is a nice way for us to say thanks, and to let him know we're still out here fighting alongside him. I hope you'll take a minute out of your day to say happy birthday.
