Political correctness gone mad in Scotland

Scotland now moves to dress boys as butterflies to curb domestic abuse

In the latest act of political correctness gone mad in Scotland, the provincial government now has plans to eliminate violence against women by making 3-year-old + boys dress up as butterflies under the misguided notion that this will make them less violent toward the other gender.
The Scottish government funded the Zero Tolerance scheme (which should be renamed the Zero Intelligence scheme) has the stated aim of ending violence against women. Whereas their preliminary objective is admirable, the activists on the receiving end of £260,325 of taxpayers’ money in 2012 have much deeper objectives. These are people are diehard feminists. This means the women have complete distrust of men and the men are sadly apologetic about their existence – longing for the days when women judged them as safe. Together these people produce a guide that warns against telling a girl that her hair looks nice, and says boys should be encouraged to dress as a nurse or play with dolls. According to The Christian Institute, the group believes that gender stereotyping, such as distinguishing between boys’ toys and girls’ toys, may contribute to domestic violence later in life. However education spokeswoman for the Scottish Tories, Elizabeth Smith, said: “Surely a bit of common sense should be applied. Boys will be boys and girls will be girls – and you shouldn’t try to force children to behave in a way that’s not natural to them.”

Alas Ms. Smith’s common sense is in short supply amongst the Scottish lefties who dominate elected positions in most parts of the province. Rather than helping, forcing boys to be something else could lead to a crisis of confidence depending on the strength of the parents and in particular the father. A Scottish Government spokesman said the group that runs the scheme is “an expert in preventing violence against women, which is both caused by, and causes, gender inequality.” Here the government reveals its hand. First the government assigns expertise to the group, but based on what we don’t know. Second they state that gender inequality causes violence against women. Third they say that said violence in turn causes more gender inequality. Zero Tolerance’s board consists of 2 men and 5 women. Their backgrounds are Further Education – 3; Journalism – 1; Union Activism – 2; Banking – 1. So it’s hard to see where the ‘expertise’ is – they certainly have no successful track record. The problem with all this is that violence against women by men has everything to do with insecure men who lack the maturity and confidence to love unconditionally in a way consistent with biblical teaching. Subsequently it has little to do with gender assumptions. But Co-ordinator of Zero Tolerance, Jenny Kemp, said the guide was not a “finger wagging” exercise but rather meant to warn against gender assumptions. That Ms. Kemp would say that qualifies that she expects the government at some point to give the guide some teeth. Feminist women and their male apologists are really angry people. They are angry at men being men and they are angrier at women having faith, being feminine and standing for conservatism. To some degree the feminists simply dismiss men as brutes who don’t know any better. But women who revere men and even God are despicable as they should be more enlightened and subsequently have become traitors to the sisterhood. But the said feminists don’t want to admit how angry they are or admit to the origin of their rage. In a classic piece of psychology they divert the anger from the real source which is likely in their family and direct it elsewhere. So we come up with these ridiculous concepts such as gender neutral toys. Laura Tomson from the group said on the Zero Tolerance website “Gender stereotyping, which is a big factor in sustaining inequality, begins at birth and continues through childhood, with children’s choices being limited to those thought ‘suitable’ for boys or girls.” Now oddly in this thinking the idea of boys only toys makes boys more likely to commit violence but girls only toys doesn’t seem to register a smidgen on the domestic abuse Richter scale. Common sense would suggest that if this were true then both genders would be affected, but in reality this is one-way discrimination against boys. The truth is that the group misunderstands the causes of relational abuse in part because they are in denial of occurrences of it in their own family. Young men will continue to grow up in father absent situations without the proper modeling on how to conduct themselves, Women with the same kinds of upbringing will not recognize them as poor choices when it comes to love. Social engineering will only exacerbate the problems highlighted. Only when the re-building of the family takes place and the place of the family in society is revered once again will we be able to effectively stamp out domestic abuse.
