London artist with an international following Johnny Morant is currently preparing for his third solo exhibition at the prestigious Tryon Gallery inLondon later this year.

From Tuesday, October 1 until October 11 the gallery will be a showing a collection of recent oil paintings. “My work plays on the border between clarity and suggestion,” says Johnny, who draws inspiration from his physical surroundings and the play of light upon them.

“Focusing on patterns and structures defined by shadows, reflections and contrast, I set out to capture the viscosity of light and atmosphere of the moment.” He adds: “The Tryon gallery space is large and well lit with an excellent location amongst many of London’s finest galleries. It manages a delicate balance as an authority on sporting and marine art while promoting progressive contemporary painting. I associate myself very much with the second part of that statement while my work draws references to structures and values relevant to the first.”
