The answer, sadly, is obvious....

Boehner: Why will Obama negotiate with Putin, but not with Congress?

Yesterday, John Boehner posted a new message and video to his Speaker.gov website. It reads:

Support Canada Free Press

After adding more than $6 trillion to the national debt, the president now says he won’t work in a bipartisan way to address our spending problem and strengthen our economy. But while the White House is stiff-arming Congress and the American people over needed spending cuts and reforms, there’s somebody out there that the Obama administration is eager to work with …
Boehner then offered an answer via this video. On its surface, it seems like a pretty solid point. Obama will show 'flexibility" with the Russians, but is unwilling to offer the same respect to Congressional Republicans. It's a fun little video...and it misses the point entirely. Frist of all, Obama didn't negotiate with Russia on Syria until he'd been thoroughly embarrassed on the world stage. The administration’s amateur hour foreign policy allowed Putin to completely outmaneuver the United States. When Obama realized that his cause was lost - then he signaled an intention to negotiate. So, if the Speaker wants to know why Obama doesn't feel he needs to negotiate with Congress, the answer is simple. John Boehner has never proven he's up to the challenge of beating the President in any substantive way. Every time the House threatens to show any sort of spine, Boehner backs down and folds his hand. Why would Obama negotiate, if that's the repeated outcome? The question Boehner should be asking is, "why have I been unable to force Obama into a situation where he has no choice but to negotiate?" If the Speaker can find an answer to that question, he might just be able to turn this mess around....
