Obama: ‘I have bent over backwards to work with the Republican Party and have purposely kept my rhet

Republicans are trying to blackmail him. They're trying to stick it to him. They're going to bring about economic chaos unless they get everything they want. They're holding the economy for ransom. They're terrorists with bombs strapped to their chests.

Who said all this? I could have sworn it was President Obama, but apparently not because today he informs us of the following: "During the course of my presidency I have bent over backwards to work with the Republican Party and have purposely kept my rhetoric down." Oh really! I wonder what his rhetoric would have sounded like if he had not, uh, purposely kept it down. This actually sounds like spoiled-child syndrome to me. Throughout his presidency, Obama has basically gotten everything he's wanted because Republicans have been afraid to fight him, and he constantly receives atta-boys from the media, who tell him how correct, virtuous and wonderful he is. When you are used to things always going your way, and you never have to deal with any type of adversity, you're woefully unprepared when it comes. I suspect he really believes his rhetoric has been restrained. I do. I think he has such a persecution complex that he regards even the slightest attack on him as an unconscionable affront, such that any response on his part short of a full-out temper tantrum is worthy of being called restrained. His delusional view of his rhetoric matches his attitude about why he shouldn't have to negotiate on the shutdown or the debt ceiling. He considers it beneath him. We've all heard him bemoan the system that requires him to deal with Congress at all. He is too good for it. So any rhetoric he might spew against Republicans cannot possibly go too far, by definition, and whatever he does say is restrained because if he really told us how he feels, he would show us the petulant child we slipped up and put in the White House.
