Yes, we left the Halloween pumpkin and scarecrow out in front of the house a bit too long and realized that a quick sign-of-the-times was easier than dismantling it. And besides, we kind of enjoy the welcoming look on that smiling-faced guy, anyway. So, we made the little GIVE THANKS sign for him to hold and he's good to go until at least Friday, when we can then - ReOrganize.
As an update on the Organizing For ReAction front, what we did not receive in quantity of responses, we received in quality, with Aaron (one of my new BFF) actually purchasing Organizingforreaction.com for us. We are always amazed of the vast amount of intellect and what I used to refer to as "Sheer Hustle and Desire" that can be found on the Internet and especially loyal CFP readers and those of you who take the time to comment. More on the URL as it develops. Honorary mention of commenters must go to Janet, who sent a heartfelt email listing ten or more reasons why she had no time, never argued politics at home, and would find it difficult to do now, along with the feeling of being hopelessly overwhelmed; BUT, then went on to give an equal amount of reasons why she (WE) had to start building "Unity In The Community."
As I replied to most of you who wrote emails and comments, even though we are living through extremely tumultuous and crazy times, we Americans and Canadians too, have much to be thankful for. (Note to Judi & Co: After all my years of traveling in Canada, I had to Google to be sure that Canadians ALSO celebrated Thanksgiving too 😉. If you must look for a reason to be thankful - stop! and look no further than into the face of a young boy or girl (6-8-13 years old, during their final stages of innocence) and realize the phenomenal opportunities that each of them have, especially AFTER we undo all the damage that has been done to America over the past 5-6+ years. As I previously mentioned, our six grandchildren are in that age range, so we get our choice of which smilin' face we want to look into to see the - future in their eyes.
Back on the Organizing front, one does not have to watch the daily events to know, to some extent, that their overthrow plan is coming unglued.
The Left is now in total chaos over the ObamaCare rollout and our daily discovery of the lies, necessary to sell their health-control-program to us. They knew all along that most health insurance policies would not meet the ObeymeCare mandates, which states that every insurance policy must meet a list of essential benefits that most people don't need or certainly don't want to pay for. Things will only get worse, and the anxiety levels will get higher, as we move into and plod through 2014. But, we must persevere for, if for nothing else, the sake of those young smilin' faces - yours, not just mine.
The plan is to follow up with weekly Organizing For ReAction concepts:
In the form of Talking Points or facts to start our discussions such as: Do you believe that ObamaCare is about better healthcare? Or--Can you see through all the increased policy prices, mandates, subsidies and higher-deductibles that ObamaCare is actually about destroying the American middle class through the redistribution of their wealth?
To write a short statement (paragraph or two) of a related story about people who had their policy cancelled or doubled in price. This will work best if you would send will 'actual' stories of people about you or people you know. We will post in articles for the purpose of forwarding, copying/pasting, sending by Facebook, Google+ and a few 140-character limited Twitter-able messages, too. Get creative, get the word out there to everyone we know, to share and get the conversation started.
The best part about our online 'conversation' is that it can be accomplished without having to actually stand in front of our friends and neighbors arguing about politics (Hat tip: Janet). The idea will be to 'gingerly' plant the seeds, which by the way, I may need a little assistance with because gingerly has never been one of my strong suits. So, once again, your 'related story' support will be required.
And, as Johnny Carson used to say at each commercial break: MORE TO COME...!
