Obama throws Pope Francis under the bus

Marxist Obama dives for cover under pope’s skirts
Ugh! The falling-fast-in-popularity-polls Barack Hussein Obama is diving for cover under the cassock of Pope Francis, and it’s going to require a take-no-prisoners Catholic League president like Bill Donohue to drag him back out.
Obama’s M.O. for hiding under Francis skirts? ‘The Artful Dodger of the White House’ counts on people thinking that If the pope can be a Marxist, then the Marxist Fundamental Transformation of America can’t be all bad. The big difference here is that no one, not the mainstream media or the talking heads, jumped on the man they call Obama when he ran for the presidency back in 2008, but the whole world, including Fox News, was ready to jump on ‘Pope Francis, the Marxist’. If the far left can get away with branding Jesus as a Marxist, why not Francis? As someone rooting for the pope from this humble corner, I’ve been waiting for someone of note from the Catholic world to step up to take Francis’ side. I found him this morning in Father John Zuhlsdorf, the ‘Fr. Z’ of one of the internet’s most popular Catholic blogs.

Adams wrote that “Pope Francis is undergoing a popularity surge comparable to the way Barack Obama was greeted by the world in 2008.” The Democrats introduced Senator Barack Obama from a stage made to look like The One was being brought forward from Greek columns. Jorge Mario Bergoglio came out a balcony in St. Peter’s Square, wearing his own shoes as just little, old me. The Catholic Church has many Obamas out there running around, including the prominent one who brought the real Obama to Notre Dame. A good thing, too, because we can now find it difficult to believe someone who could not bear to gaze at religious symbols including the powerful crucifix would hardly be “in love” with a pontiff who wears a Crucifix as part of his everyday dress. But difficult indeed stopping media opportunists from jumping on the sensationalism bus when they get a break from having to focus on an American president who’s the world’s most infamous Marxist in office. Yours Truly finds Obama’s newly professed hero worship of Pope Francis as a cunning Marxist ploy. But Fr. Z states it better by calling Obama’s use of the pope’s words as “utterly slimy”. “I wonder if what sparked this was Pres. Obama’s nightmare speech on income inequality in which he quoted Pope Francis.  Obama’s use of the Pope’s words was utterly slimy, of course.  USA Today has it:
“During his income inequality speech on Wednesday, President Obama invoked one of the hottest names in public life: Pope Francis. “Across the developed world, inequality has increased,” Obama said. “Some of you may have seen just last week, the pope himself spoke about this at eloquent length. “Obama then quoted Francis: “How can it be that it is not a news item when an elderly homeless person dies of exposure, but it is news when the stock market loses two points? “Don’t be shocked to see a president-pope meeting in the coming months.”
“Blech.  Reading Obama quote Francis gives me the same feeling as the sight of a slug crawl”, writes Fr. Z. “I wonder if we are seeing a new trend. “Did Rush’s criticism of Evangelii gaudium the other day give “permission”, as it were, to conservative newsies, etc., to start blasting away?” Let’s hope not, Fr. Z. Otherwise the mainstream media will continue chasing after ‘The Marxist Pope’ rather than the President, the Marxist’.
