The act I am signing today is the product of one of the longest and most difficult legislative undertakings of recent memory. It has truly been a bipartisan effort, with this administration and the allies of immigration reform in the Congress, of both parties, working together to accomplish these critically important reforms. Future generations of Americans will be thankful for our efforts to humanely regain control of our borders and thereby preserve the value of one of the most sacred possessions of our people: American citizenship.”Since the IRCA was signed into law, America’s borders have become a meaningless joke, ignored by all subsequent administrations, both Democrat and Republican, even following the devastating terrorist attacks on 9/11. Now in 2014, both parties are about to devalue American citizenship dramatically by granting amnesty to tens of millions who have violated our borders and laws, and whom often use public goods and services to which they are not entitled. Ronald Reagan is generally regarded as a decent, honest man whose intent was honorable, but mistaken. One shudders to imagine how America may look 30 years from now if the Obama-Boehner-Reid plundering of the Republic through immigration amnesty is enacted. Does anyone really believe that Barack Obama or any Democrat gives a damn about control of our borders or the value of American citizenship? Or that the Republican party is any better? Woe be unto those who seek to destroy American language, culture and borders for selfish political gain! John W. Lillpop San Jose, California

John W. Lillpop is a recovering liberal. “Clean and sober” since 1992 when last he voted for a Democrat. For years, John lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, the very liberal sanctuary city which protects, rather than prosecutes, certain favored criminals. John escaped the Bay Area in May and now lives in Pine Grove California where conservative values are still in vogue.
